This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you.”

所到之處無人能抵擋你們，因為你們的上帝耶和華會使那些地方的人對你們充滿懼怕，正如祂對你們的應許。

各邦各族聽見這些事就發抖，非利士人也痛苦不堪，以東的族長惶恐，摩押的英雄顫慄，迦南的居民都膽戰心驚。驚駭恐懼籠罩著他們。耶和華啊，你臂膀的大能嚇得他們僵立如石，直到你的子民都安然走過，直到你買贖的子民都安然走過。

天下萬民將看出你們是耶和華的子民，並懼怕你們。

你所到之處，我必使那裡的人惶恐不安，使你一切的仇敵都在你面前轉身逃跑。

看啊！我要使撒旦的同夥，就是那些假冒猶太人的說謊者，在你面前俯伏下拜，讓他們知道你是我所疼愛的。

埃及人懼怕他們，樂見他們離去。

他們答道：「僕人們這樣做是因為害怕喪命。我們聽說你的上帝耶和華曾經應許祂僕人摩西，要把這整片土地都賜給你們，並要將這裡的居民殺盡。

原來，主使亞蘭人聽見大隊人馬和戰車的聲音。他們以為以色列王雇用了赫人的諸王和埃及人的諸王來攻營，便在傍晚時分撇下帳篷、馬和驢，棄營而逃。

這城要使我在天下萬國面前得到尊崇、頌讚和榮耀。萬民聽見我使這城繁榮昌盛，都恐懼戰慄。』」

「我知道耶和華已經把這地方賜給你們，我們十分害怕。這裡所有的居民都嚇得膽戰心驚。因為你們離開埃及過紅海的時候，耶和華怎樣使紅海在你們面前成為乾地，你們怎樣對付約旦河東的兩個亞摩利王西宏和噩，怎樣把他們徹底消滅，我們都聽說了。我們聽了這些事，感到心驚膽戰、勇氣盡失。你們的上帝耶和華是天地萬物的上帝。我既然恩待了你們，現在請你們憑耶和華向我起誓，你們也照樣恩待我家，並且給我一個可靠的憑據，
