If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

Sometimes a prophet will announce something in the name of the Lord. And it won’t take place or come true. Then that’s a message the Lord hasn’t told him to speak. That prophet has dared to speak on his own authority. So don’t be afraid of what he says.

爾之列祖安在、眾先知豈得永存、但我言我命、我所諭我僕眾先知者、豈不悉臨及爾祖乎、彼遂悛悔、自謂自謂或作曰萬有之主已擬定、擬定或作立志循我道途道途或作動作行為、施報我身、已若是行於我矣、○

可陳將遇之事、示於我儕、昔之預言若何、爾惟述之、使我儕加意體察、知其有驗否、或以未來之事、告我聽之、

約拿入城、歷一日之程、宣告曰、再俟四十日、尼尼微必傾覆、

無故之詛言無驗、如燕雀飛過而不見、或作無故之詛言應於本身如燕雀飛回故巢

禱主曰、主歟、我在故土、豈未言必有此乎、緣此遁於他施、蓋我知主乃仁慈矜憫之天主、不遽震怒、廣施恩惠、主乃仁慈矜憫之天主不遽震怒廣施恩惠或作主乃賜恩施憐憫之天主容忍不易怒大發仁慈所定之災、回志不降、所定之災回志不降或作回志不降所言之災

爾中若有先知或作夢者出、預言異兆奇事、所言之異兆奇事有驗、遂教爾曰、我儕莫若從事異邦之神、異邦之神或作別神下同此神即爾素所未識者、
