“‘不过，如果有先知擅自奉我的名，说我没有吩咐他说的话，或是奉别神的名说话，那先知就必须处死。’

若有先知擅自奉我的名說了我未曾吩咐他說的話，或是奉別神的名說話，那先知就必處死。』

若有先知擅自奉我的名說了我未曾吩咐他說的話，或是奉別神的名說話，那先知就必處死。』

若有先知冒我的名說我未曾吩咐他的話，或以其他神明的名義說話，必須處死他。』

“‘不過，如果有先知擅自奉我的名，說我沒有吩咐他說的話，或是奉別神的名說話，那先知就必須處死。’

不過，若有神言人擅自奉我的名說我不曾吩咐他說的話，或是奉別的神的名說話，那神言人就必須死。」

如有先知擅藉我名、言我所未諭者、或藉他神之名而言、必致之死、

但先知擅藉我名、言我所未嘗諭者、或藉他上帝之名而言、則必死亡。

如有先知擅藉我名、言我所未命其宣傳之言、或藉異邦之神而言、彼先知當誅、

But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.”

But suppose a prophet dares to speak in my name something I have not commanded. Or he speaks in the name of other gods. Then that prophet must be put to death.”

But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’

But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die.’

「你們中間若有先知或是做夢的起來，向你顯個神蹟奇事，對你說：『我們去隨從你素來所不認識的別神，事奉它吧。』他所顯的神蹟奇事雖有應驗，你也不可聽那先知或是那做夢之人的話；因為這是耶和華－你們的神試驗你們，要知道你們是盡心盡性愛耶和華－你們的神不是。你們要順從耶和華－你們的神，敬畏他，謹守他的誡命，聽從他的話，事奉他，專靠他。那先知或是那做夢的既用言語叛逆那領你們出埃及地、救贖你脫離為奴之家的耶和華－你們的神，要勾引你離開耶和華－你神所吩咐你行的道，你便要將他治死。這樣，就把那惡從你們中間除掉。

若再有人說預言，生他的父母必對他說：『你不得存活，因為你託耶和華的名說假預言。』生他的父母在他說預言的時候，要將他刺透。

我在撒馬利亞的先知中曾見愚妄；他們藉巴力說預言，使我的百姓以色列走錯了路。我在耶路撒冷的先知中曾見可憎惡的事；他們行姦淫，做事虛妄，又堅固惡人的手，甚至無人回頭離開他的惡。他們在我面前都像所多瑪；耶路撒冷的居民都像蛾摩拉。所以萬軍之耶和華論到先知如此說：我必將茵蔯給他們吃，又將苦膽水給他們喝；因為褻瀆的事出於耶路撒冷的先知，流行遍地。

以利亞對他們說：「拿住巴力的先知，不容一人逃脫！」眾人就拿住他們。以利亞帶他們到基順河邊，在那裏殺了他們。

耶和華說：『我並沒有打發他們，他們卻託我的名說假預言，好使我將你們和向你們說預言的那些先知趕出去，一同滅亡。』」

但這些人好像沒有靈性，生來就是畜類，以備捉拿宰殺的。他們毀謗所不曉得的事，正在敗壞人的時候，自己必遭遇敗壞。

於是先知耶利米對先知哈拿尼雅說：「哈拿尼雅啊，你應當聽！耶和華並沒有差遣你，你竟使這百姓倚靠謊言。所以耶和華如此說：看哪，我要叫你去世，你今年必死，因為你向耶和華說了叛逆的話。」這樣，先知哈拿尼雅當年七月間就死了。

耶和華對我說：「那些先知託我的名說假預言，我並沒有打發他們，沒有吩咐他們，也沒有對他們說話；他們向你們預言的，乃是虛假的異象和占卜，並虛無的事，以及本心的詭詐。所以耶和華如此說：論到託我名說預言的那些先知，我並沒有打發他們；他們還說這地不能有刀劍饑荒，其實那些先知必被刀劍饑荒滅絕。

到了正午，以利亞嬉笑他們，說：「大聲求告吧！因為他是神，他或默想，或走到一邊，或行路，或睡覺，你們當叫醒他。」

祭司都不說，耶和華在哪裏呢？傳講律法的都不認識我。官長違背我；先知藉巴力說預言，隨從無益的神。

那獸被擒拿；那在獸面前曾行奇事、迷惑受獸印記和拜獸像之人的假先知，也與獸同被擒拿。他們兩個就活活地被扔在燒着硫磺的火湖裏；

這些人所見的是虛假，是謊詐的占卜。他們說是耶和華說的，其實耶和華並沒有差遣他們，他們倒使人指望那話必然立定。

現在你當差遣人，招聚以色列眾人和事奉巴力的那四百五十個先知，並耶洗別所供養事奉亞舍拉的那四百個先知，使他們都上迦密山去見我。」

耶和華說：「那些先知用舌頭，說是耶和華說的；我必與他們反對。」

「你們要防備假先知。他們到你們這裏來，外面披着羊皮，裏面卻是殘暴的狼。
