凡焚獻子女、及卜筮術數、占師巫覡、或左道、或崇憑於卜神者、或為巫覡、或用術而招魂者、俱勿留於四境之內、

爾中不可有使子女經於火者、卜筮占吉凶者、有邪法巫術者、

Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,

Here are things you must not do. Don’t sacrifice your children in the fire to other gods. Don’t practice any kind of evil magic at all. Don’t use magic to try to explain the meaning of warnings in the sky or of any other signs. Don’t take part in worshiping evil powers.

There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer

For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft,

你因谋划过多而筋疲力尽；现在就让那些划分天象、观看星辰、在新月时说预言的都站出来吧，拯救你脱离那些将要临到你的事！

扫罗就对他的臣仆们说：“你们为我寻找一个招魂的女巫吧，我好去她那里求问。”臣仆们对他说：“看哪，在恩多尔有一个招魂的女巫。”

又有许多行邪术的人，把他们的书籍拿到一处，当众烧掉。他们估算了那些书的价值，发现共值五万个银币。

那女人对他说：“看哪，你知道扫罗所做的事，他把招魂的和通灵的从国中剪除了。你为什么对我设下圈套，要害死我呢？”

他们把自己的儿子和女儿祭献给鬼魔；他们流无辜人的血，就是自己儿子和女儿的血，把他们祭献给迦南的偶像，那地就被血玷污了。

那时撒母耳已经死了，全以色列为他哀哭，把他葬在他本乡拉玛。扫罗曾经把招魂的和通灵的从国中驱除了。

拜偶像、行邪术、仇恨、纷争、嫉恨、暴怒、争竞、分裂、结派、

尽管有人对你们说：“求问那些喃喃自语、念念有词的招魂者和通灵者吧”，但百姓难道不应当求问自己的神吗？难道应当为活人求问死人吗？当求问神的训诲和诫命！如果他们不按照这准则说话，他们就没有曙光。
