你总要立耶和华你的神拣选的人作君王管理你；你要从你的兄弟中立一位作你的君王；不可立你的兄弟以外的人作王管理你。

be sure to appoint over you a king the Lord your God chooses. He must be from among your fellow Israelites. Do not place a foreigner over you, one who is not an Israelite.

When that happens, make sure you appoint over yourselves a king the Lord your God chooses. He must be from among your own people. Don’t appoint over yourselves someone from another country. Don’t choose anyone who isn’t from one of the tribes of Israel.

you may indeed set a king over you whom the Lord your God will choose. One from among your brothers you shall set as king over you. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.

If this happens, be sure to select as king the man the Lord your God chooses. You must appoint a fellow Israelite; he may not be a foreigner.

撒母耳对众民说：“你们看见耶和华所拣选的人没有？在众人中没有一个可与他相比。”众人就大声欢呼：“愿王万岁！”

在我的众子中（因为耶和华赐给我许多儿子），他拣选了我的儿子所罗门，坐耶和华的国位，统治以色列。

不要使你的脚赤露，你的喉咙干渴！你却说：‘没用的！因为我爱外族人的神，我要跟从他们！’

耶西就派人去把大卫带回来。他面色红润，眼目清秀，外貌英俊。耶和华说：“就是这一个，你起来膏立他吧！”撒母耳就拿起盛油的角，在他的兄长中膏立他。从那天起，耶和华的灵就大大感动大卫。后来撒母耳动身往拉玛去了。

世上的君王起来，首领聚在一起，敌对耶和华和他所膏立的，说：

从前扫罗作我们的王的时候，领导以色列人行动的是你。耶和华也曾对你说：‘你要牧养我的子民以色列，要作以色列的领袖。’”

原来，在扫罗来到的前一天，耶和华已经启示撒母耳说：“明天大约这个时候，我要差派一个人从便雅悯地到你那里去，你要膏立他作我子民以色列人的领袖。他要拯救我的子民脱离非利士人的手。我眷顾了我的子民，因为他们的哀求已经达到我这里。”撒母耳看见了扫罗，耶和华就对撒母耳说：“你看，这就是我对你所说的那人，他要统治我的子民。”

“我已经在锡安我的圣山上，立了我的君王。”

预备作战的首领来到希伯仑见大卫，要照着耶和华的命令把扫罗的国位转归大卫，他们的数目如下：

请把你的意见告诉我们，纳税给凯撒，可不可以呢？”
