If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,

Suppose a prophet appears among you. Or someone comes who uses dreams to tell what’s going to happen. He tells you that a sign or something amazing is going to take place.

“ If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,

“ Suppose there are prophets among you or those who dream dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles,

Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder,

But as for you, do not listen to your prophets, diviners, dreamers, fortune-tellers, or sorcerers who say to you,‘ Don’t serve the king of Babylon!’

“ I have heard what the prophets who prophesy a lie in My name have said,‘ I had a dream! I had a dream!’How long will this continue in the minds of the prophets prophesying lies, prophets of the deceit of their own minds?Through their dreams that they tell one another, they plan to cause My people to forget My name as their fathers forgot My name through Baal worship.The prophet who has only a dream should recount the dream, but the one who has My word should speak My word truthfully, for what is straw compared to grain?”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

For this is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says:“ Don’t let your prophets who are among you and your diviners deceive you, and don’t listen to the dreams you elicit from them,

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

False messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

Woe to you when all people speak well of you, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the false prophets.

For from the least to the greatest of them, everyone is making profit dishonestly. From prophet to priest, everyone deals falsely.

because both prophet and priest are ungodly, even in My house I have found their evil. This is the Lord’s declaration.

Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

“ Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.

The head is the elder, the honored one; the tail is the prophet, the lying teacher.

For the idols speak falsehood, and the diviners see illusions; they relate empty dreams and offer empty comfort. Therefore the people wander like sheep; they suffer affliction because there is no shepherd.

On that day every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they will not put on a hairy cloak in order to deceive.

For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and will perform signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

He said to him,“ I am also a prophet like you. An angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord:‘ Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.’” The old prophet deceived him,

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves.

“ Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: Hear the word of the Lord!This is what the Lord God says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing.

To Shemaiah the Nehelamite you are to say,

therefore you will no longer see false visions or practice divination. I will deliver My people from your hands. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”

The coming of the lawless one is based on Satan’s working, with all kinds of false miracles, signs, and wonders,
