拒絕遵守祂的律例和祂與他們祖先所立的約，無視祂的警告。他們隨從虛無的偶像，自己也變得虛無。他們違背耶和華的命令，去效法周圍的外族人。他們把他們的上帝耶和華的誡命拋諸腦後，鑄造了兩個金牛犢，還造了亞舍拉神像。他們祭拜巴力和天上的萬象，把自己的兒女燒死獻作祭物。他們占卜，行邪術，出賣自己去做耶和華視為惡的事，惹祂發怒。

你們不可按照他們的方式敬拜你們的上帝耶和華。

我要藉此制止你從埃及染上的淫亂和放蕩，使你不再嚮往埃及。

「你們進入你們的上帝耶和華將要賜給你們的土地後，不可仿效當地民族的可憎行徑。你們當中不可有人焚燒自己的子女作祭物，不可有人占卜、算命、作法、行邪術、

你們能佔領他們的土地並非因為你們公義、行為正直。你們的上帝耶和華從你們面前趕走那些民族，是因為他們邪惡，也是為了實現祂給你們祖先亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的誓言。

你們必須遵守我的律例和典章。不論你們還是寄居在你們中間的外族人，都不可做這些可憎之事。因為在你們之前居住在那裡的人做了這些可憎之事，玷污了那片土地。如果你們玷污了那片土地，它也會像吐出從前的居民一樣把你們吐出去。凡做這些可憎之事的，要將他從民中剷除。你們要遵守我的命令，不要效法那片土地上居民的惡俗，以致玷污自己。我是你們的上帝耶和華。」

他做耶和華視為惡的事，效法耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的外族人的可憎行徑。

所有祭司長和民眾也都仿效外族人的一切可憎行徑，犯了大罪，玷污了耶和華在耶路撒冷使之聖潔的殿。

耶和華會喜愛成千的公羊和萬條油河嗎？我要因過犯而獻上自己的長子，因心中的罪惡而獻上親生的骨肉嗎？

不可把兒女當作祭物獻給假神摩洛，不可褻瀆你上帝的名。我是耶和華。

「你把以下條例告訴以色列人。「在你們或寄居在你們中間的外族人中，如果有人把子女獻給假神摩洛，必須處死他，當地的人要用石頭打死他。

他做耶和華視為惡的事，效法耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的外族人的可憎行徑。

你們至今仍把自己的兒子燒作祭物獻給偶像，玷污自己嗎？以色列人啊，我會讓你們求問嗎？主耶和華說，我憑我的永恆起誓，我決不讓你們求問。
