我儿啊，如果你接受我的言语，把我的诫命珍藏在你里面，

来吧，儿女们，听从我！我要教导你们敬畏耶和华。

唯独活人——活着的人才会称颂你，像我今天这样；作父亲的才会使儿女认识你的信实。

他在雅各中立下法度，在以色列中设立律法，这律法是他吩咐我们的祖先教导子孙的，好让将要出生的后代子孙可以明白，并且起来向他们的子孙讲述；

孩子们哪，你们要听从父亲的管教；要留心，好使你们获得悟性；因为我给你们的是美好的教诲；你们不要离弃我的法则。当我在父亲身边还是个孩子，在母亲面前是幼嫩的独生子时，父亲指教我，对我说：“你的心要持定我的话语，你当遵守我的诫命，就得以存活！你要获得智慧，获得悟性；不要忘记、也不要偏离我口中的言语。你不要离弃智慧，她就会保守你；你要爱她，她就守护你。智慧是首要的，你要获得智慧；要用你所得的一切获得悟性！你当尊崇智慧，她就高举你；你拥抱她，她就使你得尊荣，她必将恩惠的花冠戴在你的头上，把荣耀的冠冕给予你。”我儿啊，你要听，并要接受我的言语，你生命的岁月就必增多！我指示你走在智慧的道路上，使你踏上正直的路径；你行走的时候，脚步就不受阻碍；就算你奔跑，也不被绊倒。你要持守训导，不要放弃；要谨守智慧，因为她是你的生命。你不要进入恶人的路途，也不要走上邪恶的道路；你要躲避它，不要经过那里，要从那里转离，继续前行。要知道，这些人如果不作恶就睡不着觉，不绊倒人就睡卧不安；因为他们吃的是邪恶之饼，喝的是残暴之酒。但义人的路途如同黎明的光辉，越来越亮，直到正午；恶人的道路却如幽暗黑夜，他们不知道被什么绊倒。我儿啊，你要留心听我的话语，侧耳听我的言语！不要让它们离开你的眼目，要把它们谨守在你心中；因为对找到它们的人，它们就是生命，也使他全身得治愈。当谨守你的心，胜过保守一切，因为生命的泉源由心而出。当使口中的狡诈离开你，使嘴上的邪僻远离你。你的眼目要向前观看，你的目光要直视前方。你要度量脚下的路径，你一切的道路就会被确立。你不要偏右，也不要偏左，要使你的脚离开恶事。
