Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations— as it is today.

But the Lord loved your people of long ago very much. You are their children. And he chose you above all the other nations. His love and his promise remain with you to this very day.

Yet the Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day.

Yet the Lord chose your ancestors as the objects of his love. And he chose you, their descendants, above all other nations, as is evident today.

Yet the LORD had his heart set on your ancestors and loved them. He chose their descendants after them— he chose you out of all the peoples, as it is today.

The Lord delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day.

Only Jehovah had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all peoples, as at this day.

Yet the Lord was devoted to your fathers and loved them. He chose their descendants after them— He chose you out of all the peoples, as it is today.

However, only to your ancestors did he show his loving favor, and he chose you, their descendants, from all peoples– as is apparent today.

Because He loved your fathers, He chose their descendants after them. And He personally brought you from Egypt by His great power,

If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us— a land which flows with milk and honey.

“ The Lord did not make you His beloved nor choose you because you were greater in number than any of the peoples, since you were the fewest of all peoples,but because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Just as it is written:“ Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? Far from it!For He says to Moses,“ I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I show compassion.”So then, it does not depend on the person who wants it nor the one who runs, but on God who has mercy.For the Scripture says to Pharaoh,“ For this very reason I raised you up, in order to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the earth.”So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.You will say to me then,“ Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?”On the contrary, who are you, you foolish person, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder,“ Why did you make me like this,” will it?Or does the potter not have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one object for honorable use, and another for common use?What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with great patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction?And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon objects of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory,
