Moses continued,“ At that time I told you,‘ You are too great a burden for me to carry all by myself.

「那時，我對你們說，『我無法獨自承擔管理你們的重任，

“那時，我曾經對你們說：‘你們的重擔，我獨自一人無法擔當。

『那時我對你們說：「你們的事、我獨自擔當不起。

當時我告爾曰、我不能獨負爾任、

當時我嘗有言、爾之上帝耶和華、既使爾昌熾、如天星之眾多、我無所能獨當斯任、

當時我告爾曰、我獨力不能當爾之任、

At that time I said to you,“ You are too heavy a burden for me to carry alone.

At that time I spoke to you. I said,“ You are too heavy a load for me to carry alone.

“ At that time I said to you,‘ I am not able to bear you by myself.

“ I said to you at that time: I can’t bear the responsibility for you on my own.

“ And I spoke to you at that time, saying,‘ I am not able to endure you alone.

“ And I spoke to you at that time, saying:‘ I alone am not able to bear you.

And I spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:

“ I said to you at that time: I can’t bear the responsibility for you on my own.

And I spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:

I also said to you at that time,“ I am no longer able to sustain you by myself.

I spoke to you at that time, saying,“ I am not able to bear you myself alone.

“ You’re going to wear yourself out— and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself.

I will come down and talk to you there. I will take some of the Spirit that is upon you, and I will put the Spirit upon them also. They will bear the burden of the people along with you, so you will not have to carry it alone.

And Moses said to the Lord,“ Why are you treating me, your servant, so harshly? Have mercy on me! What did I do to deserve the burden of all these people?Did I give birth to them? Did I bring them into the world? Why did you tell me to carry them in my arms like a mother carries a nursing baby? How can I carry them to the land you swore to give their ancestors?Where am I supposed to get meat for all these people? They keep whining to me, saying,‘ Give us meat to eat!’I can’t carry all these people by myself! The load is far too heavy!
