爰使摩西亞倫、導爾選民、如引群羊、咸過其地兮。

有雲覆會幕、耶和華之榮光盈其室、因雲覆之、耶和華之榮光盈之、故摩西不能進會幕、雲離會幕時、以色列族遄征、雲不移、民不行、晝則耶和華之雲籠罩幕上、及夜雲狀若火、以色列族遄征時、悉目擊焉。

上帝之使、昔在以色列營前、今遷於後、雲狀如柱、亦離前而立後。間於二營之中。埃及人觀之如黑雲、以色列族望之如巨光、彼此終夜不相近。

上帝布雲覆民、夜則燭之以火兮、

昧爽火雲若柱、耶和華於其中俯視埃及營、亂其行伍、

耶和華曰、我必扞衛斯邑、若四周有火、若中央赫奕。

二年二月二十日、雲離法幕、以色列族遄征、去西乃野、雲至於巴蘭野、則止。

既立盟誓、導爾祖出埃及、至產乳與蜜之地、其地為列國所羨美、我素所選者、

烈日炎熇、驟雨滂沛、亦將覆幬以庇護。

耶和華導民、無間日夜、晝則導以雲、夜則燭以火、其狀如柱。於是晝有雲、夜有火、弗離於前。
