但以理啊！你當隱藏這些話語，封住這書卷，直到末後的時期；必有許多人往來奔走，知識也必增多。」

現在我來了，要使你領悟末後的日子將要臨到你民的事，因為這異象是關於末後的日子。」

他說：「但以理啊，你只管去吧！因為這些話語已經被隱藏、被封住了，直到末後的時期。

他又對我說：「不可封住這書上的預言之話，因為時候快到了。

當那七個雷發出了自己的聲音，我正要寫下來，卻聽見有聲音從天上傳來，說：「你要封住七個雷所說的話，不可寫下來。」

它高抬自己，要高達天軍之首；它還除掉給天軍之首常獻的祭，使他的聖所之地被丟棄。因罪過的緣故，天軍與常獻的祭一同被交出去；這小犄角把真理丟棄在地，它所做的都順利。然後我聽見一位聖者在說話，又有一位聖者問那說話的：「這異象，就是有關常獻的祭、帶來荒涼的罪過、聖所和天軍被踐踏之事，要到什麼時候呢？」他就回答我：「要經過兩千三百個晚上和早晨，那時聖所就必重歸為聖。」我但以理正在觀看這異象，想要領悟它，看哪，有一位樣貌像人的站在我面前！

他們必被聚在一起，像地牢中被囚的人；他們被關進監獄，多日以後必受懲罰。
