At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.

宰輔方伯、索但以理政事之失以訟之、惟但以理忠誠、無錯無謬、無隙可乘、

監督州牧、伺但以理之隙、欲因其治之不善、而訟之於王、惟但以理竭其忠忱、無疵可摘、

當時冢宰與方伯、尋但以理治國事之誤、治國事之誤或作政事之錯失為訟之之故、惟但以理忠藎、毫無錯誤疵繆、不能得故以訟之、

But the other two leaders and the royal rulers heard about it. So they looked for a reason to bring charges against Daniel. They tried to find something wrong with the way he ran the government. But they weren’t able to. They couldn’t find any fault with his work. He could always be trusted. He never did anything wrong. And he always did what he was supposed to.

Then the high officials and the satraps sought to find a ground for complaint against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, but they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him.

Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.

The administrators and satraps, therefore, kept trying to find a charge against Daniel regarding the kingdom. But they could find no charge or corruption, for he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him.

Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel regarding government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or evidence of corruption, because he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was to be found in him.

So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.

Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel as touching the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault, forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

The administrators and satraps, therefore, kept trying to find a charge against Daniel regarding the kingdom. But they could find no charge or corruption, for he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him.

Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he[ was] faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

Consequently the supervisors and satraps were trying to find some pretext against Daniel in connection with administrative matters. But they were unable to find any such damaging evidence, because he was trustworthy and guilty of no negligence or corruption.

Then the presidents and the local governors sought to find occasion against Daniel as touching the kingdom; but they could find no occasion or fault, because he was faithful. There wasn’t any error or fault found in him.

keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

so that you may become blameless and pure,“ children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, intent on putting them to death;but the Lord will not leave them in the power of the wicked or let them be condemned when brought to trial.

I hear many whispering,“ Terror on every side! Denounce him! Let’s denounce him!” All my friends are waiting for me to slip, saying,“ Perhaps he will be deceived; then we will prevail over him and take our revenge on him.”

and said to them,“ You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined him in your presence and have found no basis for your charges against him.Neither has Herod, for he sent him back to us; as you can see, he has done nothing to deserve death.

And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

For he knew it was out of self- interest that they had handed Jesus over to him.

Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be sincere. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said, so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor.

At this time some astrologers came forward and denounced the Jews.

( His parents did not know that this was from the Lord, who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines; for at that time they were ruling over Israel.)

The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright.

and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

Now the men were frightened when they were taken to his house. They thought,“ We were brought here because of the silver that was put back into our sacks the first time. He wants to attack us and overpower us and seize us as slaves and take our donkeys.”

In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him.

They said,“ Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah; for the teaching of the law by the priest will not cease, nor will counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophets. So come, let’s attack him with our tongues and pay no attention to anything he says.”

Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father and said to him,“ Let not the king do wrong to his servant David; he has not wronged you, and what he has done has benefited you greatly.He took his life in his hands when he killed the Philistine. The Lord won a great victory for all Israel, and you saw it and were glad. Why then would you do wrong to an innocent man like David by killing him for no reason?”

and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.

But you, Lord, know all their plots to kill me. Do not forgive their crimes or blot out their sins from your sight. Let them be overthrown before you; deal with them in the time of your anger.

Ahimelek answered the king,“ Who of all your servants is as loyal as David, the king’s son-in-law, captain of your bodyguard and highly respected in your household?

So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander.

The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.

and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.

Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews gathered there,“ Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about.
