於是博士賢人、太史卜師、咸集、余告以所夢、彼不能解其兆焉、

When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.

Those who try to figure things out by using magic came. So did those who study the heavens. I told all of them what I had dreamed. But they couldn’t tell me what it meant.

Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers came in, and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me its interpretation.

我使虛謊的預兆失效，愚弄占卜的人，使智慧人退後，使他的知識變為愚拙；

至於你們，不可聽從你們的先知和占卜的、做夢的、觀星象的，以及行邪術的；他們對你們說：『你們必不致服事巴比倫王。』他們向你們傳的是假預言，要叫你們遠離本地，以致我將你們趕出去，使你們滅亡。

他們再一次回答說：「請王將夢告訴僕人，我們就可以講解。」

從前雅尼和佯庇怎樣反對摩西，這等人也怎樣抵擋真理；他們的心地敗壞，信仰經不起考驗。然而，他們沒有進步，因為他們的愚昧必在眾人面前顯露出來，像那兩人一樣。

尼布甲尼撒在位第二年，他做了很多夢，心裏煩亂，不能睡覺。王吩咐人將術士、巫師、行邪術的和迦勒底人召來，要他們把王的夢告訴王；他們就來，站在王面前。

迦勒底人回答王說：「世上沒有人能解釋王的事情；從來沒有君王、大臣、掌權者向術士、巫師，或迦勒底人問過這樣的事。

但以理回答王說：「王所問的那奧祕，智慧人、巫師、術士、觀兆的都不能告訴王，

到了早晨，法老心裏不安，就派人把埃及所有的術士和智慧人都召來。法老把所做的夢告訴他們，但是沒有人能為法老解夢。
