因為她的罪已纍纍連天了，她所作不對的事、上帝都記得。

因為你堅愛之宏大高過諸天；你的忠信達於雲霄。

因為約翰屢次對他說：『你娶了這婦人是不合法的。』

但那裏有永恆主的一個神言人名叫俄德、出來迎接那到撒瑪利亞來的軍隊，對他們說：『只因永恆主你們列祖的上帝惱怒了猶大人，他才將他們交在你們手裏，你們竟怒氣沖天，殺戮了他們。

王啊，至高的上帝曾將國位、大權、尊榮、威嚴、賜給你父尼布甲尼撒；由於上帝所賜給他的大權、各族之民、列國之民、各種方言的人就都在他面前戰兢恐懼：他喜歡殺誰、就殺誰，喜歡讓誰活着、就讓誰活着，他喜歡讓誰升高、就讓誰升高，喜歡叫誰降低、就叫誰降低。但他心高氣傲，剛愎自用，就從他的國位上黜落下來，他的尊榮就被褫奪。他被趕逐離開人類；他的心變如走獸的心；他的住處同野驢在一起；他受迫而喫草如牛；他的身體被天露滴濕，等到他承認至高上帝在人國中掌權，都隨着自己的意旨立人來管理。而你呢，伯沙撒啊，你是他的兒子，你雖知道這一切，你心仍不自己謙卑，竟對着天上的主高抬自己，叫人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和你大臣、王后、妃嬪竟用這些器皿來喝酒；你又稱頌那些金銀銅鐵、木頭石頭的神，就是那些不能看、不能聽、不能知道的；至於那手中執掌你氣息、那管理你一生行程的上帝、你卻不將尊榮歸與他。

永恆主啊，你的堅愛原於諸天；你的可信可靠達於雲霄。

他做了一個夢，見有一道臺階立在地上、其上頭頂着天；竟有上帝的使者在臺階上上上下下呢。

便說：『來吧，我們建造一座城和一座塔；塔頂通天，我們須要為自己立名，免得分散在全地上。』
