“ From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.

他的軍隊必起來，褻瀆聖殿，就是那堡壘，廢除常獻祭，又在殿裡設立了那使地荒涼的可憎的像。

一七之內，他必和許多人堅立盟約；一七之半，他必使獻祭和供物終止；他必在殿裡（“殿裡”原文作“翼上”）；設立那使地荒涼的可憎的像（“可憎的像”原文是複數），直到指定的結局傾倒在那造成荒涼的人身上。”

“當你們看見但以理先知所說的‘那造成荒涼的可憎者’，站在聖地的時候（讀者必須領悟），

“當你們看見‘那造成荒涼的可憎者’，站在不該站的地方（讀者必須領悟），那時，住在猶太的應當逃到山上；

但聖所外面的院子，不要量它，因為它已經給了外族人，他們要踐踏聖城四十二個月。

龍又給了那獸一張說誇大和褻瀆話的嘴巴，也給了牠權柄可以任意而行四十二個月。

他必說話，敵擋至高者；他必折磨至高者的聖民，又想改變節期和律法；聖民必交在他的手中，一載、二載、半載（“一載、二載、半載”或譯：“一個時期、多個時期、半個時期”）。

關於所說二千三百個晚上和早晨的異象是真的，但你要把這異象封住，因為那是關於將來許多的年日的。”

牠狂妄自大，要高及天象之君；牠除掉獻給天象之君的常獻祭，又拆毀他的聖所。因罪過的緣故，聖民（“聖民”和8:10~11的“天象”原文是同一個字）連同常獻的祭都交給牠；牠把真理丟在地上，任意而行，凡事順利。我聽見一位聖者在說話，又有一位聖者問他：“這個關於除掉常獻的祭，和引致毀壞的罪過，以及踐踏聖所和聖民（“聖民”和8:10~11的“天象”原文是同一個字）的異象，要到幾時呢？”他對我說：“要到二千三百個晚上和早晨，聖所才得潔淨。”

婦人就逃到曠野去了，那裡有神為她預備的地方。她在那裡得供養一千二百六十天。
