The two kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will sit at the same table and lie to each other, but to no avail, because an end will still come at the appointed time.

The kings of Syria and Egypt will sit at the same table. But in their hearts they will plan to do what is evil. And they will tell lies to each other. But it will not do them any good. God will put an end to their plans at his appointed time.

And as for the two kings, their hearts shall be bent on doing evil. They shall speak lies at the same table, but to no avail, for the end is yet to be at the time appointed.

智慧人中有些仆倒的，為要鍛煉他們，潔淨他們，使他們成為雪白，直到末了，因為要到了指定的時候，結局才會來到。

他們圖謀奸惡，說：“我們設計了最精密的陰謀！”人的意念和心思實在深不可測。

因這異象關乎一定的日期，很快就要實現，決不徒然；縱有遲延，仍當等候，因為它一定會來到，絕不耽誤。”

不可吃吝嗇人的飯，也不可貪戀他的美食。因為他心裡怎樣計算，他的為人就是怎樣；他雖然對你說：“請吃，請喝！”他的心裡卻沒有你。你所吃的那一點食物，必要吐出來，你道謝的美言，也都白費了。

他說：“看哪！我要告訴你在神忿怒審判的後期必要發生的事，因為這是有關那末後的定期的。

“到了末期，南方王要和他交戰；北方王必帶著戰車、騎兵和大批戰船，像暴風一般來到他那裡；他必侵入列國，如洪水氾濫，橫掃而過。

不是的，你們心中策劃奸惡；你們的手在地上施行強暴（本句原文作“你們在地上稱出你們手中的強暴”）。

勇士啊！你為甚麼以作惡自誇呢？神的慈愛是常存的。

圖謀惡事的，心存詭詐；使人和睦的，心中喜樂。

嘴唇火熱，心卻奸惡，就像包上銀渣的瓦器。

但在七月的時候，王裔以利沙瑪的孫子、尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利，也是王的一位大臣，帶了十個人和他一起到米斯巴去見亞希甘的兒子基大利；他們在米斯巴一起吃飯的時候，尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和與他一起的那十個人就起來，用刀襲擊沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利，就是巴比倫王指派管理那地的，把他殺掉。以實瑪利也擊殺了所有在米斯巴和基大利一起的猶大人，以及在那裡所遇見的迦勒底軍兵。

人心裡的謀算很多，唯有耶和華的計劃能實現。

弟兄們，論到時候和日期，不用寫甚麼給你們了。

你要說：‘主耶和華這樣說：這葡萄樹怎能茂盛呢？鷹不是要拔出它的根來，啄光它的果子，使它和它長出的一切嫩葉都枯乾嗎？其實，要把它連根拔起，並不需要很多人或很大的氣力。

波斯王古列第三年，有一個信息啟示給那稱為伯提沙撒的但以理。這信息是真的，是關於一場大戰爭；但以理明白這信息，了解這異象。

押沙龍說：“王若是不去，求王讓我的哥哥暗嫩與我一同去。”王問他：“為甚麼要他與你一同去呢？”

耶穌說：“父憑著自己的權柄所定的時間或日期，你們不必知道。

“到了指定的時候，他必回來，再侵入南方的王國，不過這次的情況卻不像前一次。

因為他已經定好了日子，要藉著他所立的人，按公義審判天下，並且使他從死人中復活，給萬人作一個可信的憑據。”

卑賤的人真是虛空，高貴的人也是虛假，放在天平上就必升起；他們加在一起比空氣還輕。
