But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation[ even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede,[ even] I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than[ they] all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.And the king of the south shall be strong, and[ one] of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion[ shall be] a great dominion.And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in[ these] times.But out of a branch of her roots shall[ one] stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes,[ and] with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue[ more] years than the king of the north.So the king of the south shall come into[ his] kingdom, and shall return into his own land.But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and[ one] shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up,[ even] to his fortress.And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him,[ even] with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.[ And] when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down[ many] ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened[ by it].

Know therefore and understand,[ that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince[ shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told[ is] true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it[ shall be] for many days.

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book,[ even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say,[ It is] truth.

Let them bring[ them] forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they[ be], that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye[ are] gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold[ it] together.
