你們看按肉身做以色列人的。那些喫祭物的、豈不是在祭壇上有分麼？那我是說甚麼呢？是說祭偶像之物算得了甚麼呢？還是說偶像算得了甚麼呢？我乃是說外國人所祭獻的、是祭獻給鬼，不是獻與上帝。我不願意你們成了有分於鬼的人。你們不能喝主的杯，又喝鬼的杯；不能分享主的筵席，又分享鬼的筵席啊。

作壞事的人哪，離開我吧！我好遵守我的上帝的誡命。

但若有人心裏已經立定，既沒有不得已的事，對自己的意思又有主權，自己心裏也已決定要保守自己的處女朋友：這樣行也好。

那些向來喫他們祭牲的脂肪、喝他們奠祭之酒的神在哪裏呢？讓他們興起來幫助你們吧！願他們護衛你們吧！

巴拿巴到了那裏，看見上帝的恩，就歡喜，又鼓勵眾人以心中的定志緊依附着主。

各人要照心裏所酌定的，不要心疼，不要勉強：因為上帝愛歡心樂意的捐獻者。

王將王的大餐日日的分兒、和他自己喝的酒、分派給他們，將他們養大了三年；過了三年、他們好侍立在王面前。

假使有人對你們說：『這是獻過祭的東西』，那麼為了那指點的人、並為着良知的緣故、你就別喫了：這良知我說、並不是你自己的，乃是那別人的。我的自由為甚麼被另一個人的良知論斷呢？我如果存着感恩的心分享着，為甚麼因我所祝謝的而受毁謗呢？所以你們或喫或喝，或作甚麼事，都要為上帝的榮耀而作。

你公義的典章、我曾起誓遵守；我堅定要照誓言而行。

但這種知識不都在眾人心裏。有人因了拜偶像的習慣力存到現在，喫東西還像喫祭偶像之物一樣；他們的良知既然軟弱，就被沾染了污穢。其實食物並不能將我們舉薦與上帝：我們若不喫，無所虧損，喫也無所增益。不過要謹慎，免得你們這權利、竟成了軟弱人的碰腳物。倘若有人見你這「有知識的」在偶像廟裏坐席，他的良知若是軟弱，豈不是要「被建立起來！」去喫祭偶像之物麼？

你若因食物的緣故使你的弟兄憂愁，便不再是依照愛心而行了。基督曾經替他死的人，你可別用你的食物使他失喪了！所以不可讓你們所看為善的受着毁謗。因為上帝的國不在乎喫喝，乃在乎正義和平與喜樂都在聖靈之感動中。

彼得說：『主啊，千萬不可；因為各樣俗污不潔淨之物、我從來沒有喫過。』聲音又第二次對他說：『上帝所潔淨的、你別當作俗污了。』這樣有三次，那器物就被接上、到天上去了。

我心裏就說要為永恆主我的上帝的名建殿，照永恆主對我父親大衛所說過的話，說：「你那兒子、我所要設立來接替你坐你位上的、是他才要為我的名來建殿。」

你在哪裏死，我也在哪裏死，也埋葬在哪裏；除了死以外，若有甚麼使你我相分離，願永恆主這樣懲罰我，並且加倍地懲罰。』拿俄米見路得堅決要跟自己去，就停止不對她說甚麼了。
