耶和華啊，求你不要讓我的心偏向邪惡，免得我與惡人同流合污；也不要讓我吃他們的美食。

我是耶和華，我帶你們離開埃及，為要做你們的上帝。你們要聖潔，因為我是聖潔的。「以上是有關飛禽走獸、水族和地上一切爬蟲的條例，使你們可以分清什麼是潔淨的、什麼是不潔淨的、什麼是可吃的、什麼是不可吃的。」

你們看以色列人，那些吃祭物的難道不是有份於祭壇嗎？我這話是什麼意思呢？是說偶像和祭偶像的食物有什麼特別嗎？當然不是，我的意思是那些異教徒所獻的祭是祭鬼魔的，而不是獻給上帝的。我不願意你們與鬼魔有任何關係。你們不能又喝主的杯又喝鬼魔的杯，不能又吃主的聖餐又吃祭鬼魔的食物。

你們這些惡人離開我吧，我要順從上帝的命令。

如果這人心裡確信自己沒有結婚的需要，又能自己作主，打定主意不結婚，這樣做也好。

它們吃你們祭牲的脂肪，喝你們的奠酒。讓它們起來幫助你們，庇護你們吧！

他到達後，看見上帝所賜的恩典，就萬分高興，勸勉他們要全心地忠於主。

各人心裡想捐多少就捐多少，不要勉強，不要為難。因為捐得甘心樂意的人才是上帝所喜愛的。

王安排他們每日享用一份御用的膳食和酒。他們要受教養三年，期滿後好在王身邊供職。

不過，如果有人告訴你這些是獻給偶像的祭物，你為了那告訴你的人和良心的緣故，就不要吃。不過我指的不是你的良心，而是那人的良心。或許有人說：「我的自由為什麼要受別人的良心限制呢？如果我存感恩的心吃，為什麼還要受批評呢？」所以，你們或吃或喝，無論做什麼，都要為上帝的榮耀而做。

我曾經起誓，我必信守諾言：我要遵行你公義的法令。

不過，並不是所有的人都有這種知識。有些人因為以前拜慣了偶像，現在吃到某些食物就覺得是祭過偶像的，因而良心不安，覺得自己被玷污了。其實食物並不能改變上帝對我們的看法，我們不吃也沒有損失，吃了也不會更好。但你們要小心，不要讓你們的自由絆倒那些信心軟弱的人。如果有人看見你這明白以上道理的人竟然坐在偶像的廟中吃喝，他雖然良心不安，豈不還是會放膽吃獻給偶像的祭物嗎？

如果你吃的東西令弟兄姊妹不安，你就不是憑愛心行事。你不可因為一點食物而損害基督捨命救贖的人。所以，不要讓你們認為好的事被別人詬病。因為上帝的國不是關乎吃什麼喝什麼，而是關乎公義、平安和聖靈所賜的喜樂。

彼得卻說：「主啊！這可不行！我從未吃過任何污穢不潔之物。」那聲音又一次對他說：「上帝已經潔淨的，你不可再稱之為不潔淨。」這樣一連三次之後，那塊布就被收回天上去了。

我想為我的上帝耶和華建殿，因為耶和華曾對我父大衛說，『我必使你的兒子繼承你的王位，他必為我的名建殿。』

你死在哪裡，我也死在哪裡、葬在哪裡。只有死才能把我們分開。否則，願耶和華重重地懲罰我！」拿俄米見路得堅決要跟她走，就不再勸阻她了。
