且為我儕祈禱、俾上帝闢道之門、得言基督之奧秘、我為此而受縲絏也、

亦為我儕求、望上帝闢門、言基督奧、為傳此道、我陷縲絏、

亦為我儕祈禱、求天主為我儕開傳道之門、使我能宣基督奧妙、我亦為此陷於縲絏、

And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

Pray for us too. Pray that God will give us an opportunity to preach our message. Then we can preach the mystery of Christ. Because I preached it, I am being held by chains.

At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—

Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains.

亦為予祈求辯才無礙、俾能以大無畏精神、闡發福音之蘊奧。蓋我已為福音之故而成為被鍊加鎖之星使。果能不為威武所屈、侃侃而談、庶幾不辱使命、是所至願也。

既至、召集會眾、縷述天主假手所行諸事；且謂天主已為異邦人洞開信道之門矣。

蓋予為基督而受縲絏、已為御營內外公認之事。而多數宗主之兄弟、因予之被囚、舉相率鼓其勇氣、再接再厲、以大無畏之精神、弘宣天主之道。

曩者吾曾至特羅亞傳基督福音。托主之力、門戶洞開；

此則予所深信不疑者也。且予對爾懷此感想、允非過情；蓋爾我神交心契、實為一體；故予之縲絏、亦即爾之縲絏；予之護道樹教、爾托主恩、亦與有功焉、

爾其寓書於斐拉代非教會之守護天神曰：彼至聖至真掌握大維之管籥所啟無人能閉、所閉無人能啟者、有所曉諭於爾：吾知爾之行實。識之哉、吾已置一洞開之門於爾前、人莫得而閉焉。蓋爾力量薄弱、竟能篤守吾道、而未背棄吾名。識之哉、

使其團結一致於愛德之中、寖達和融瑩徹、沛然不疑之地、俾能切身體認天主之妙道而已矣。妙道無他、基督是已。基督者、一切智慧之淵府也。

最後尚望兄弟為吾儕祈禱、俾主之聖道日見發揚光大、如在爾中；且使吾儕得脫於傲慢小人之手、蓋信德固非盡人而有也。

人當視吾輩為基督之臣僕、天主眾妙之司庫。

斯道無他、即天主自始所蘊藏之玄妙、至今始顯示於諸聖、

予之所以身被桎梏、一若匪徒者、惟為斯福音而已。雖然、天主之道、則無人能加以桎梏也。

是故吾以因主被囚之身、剴切勸爾修身砥行、無忝爾之聖召、

請為吾儕祈求；蓋吾儕自問於心無愧日用之間、惟求遵行正道而已。惟予所懇爾祈求者、欲使早日與爾團聚耳。

因此、我葆樂竟為爾異邦人之故、而作基督耶穌之囚徒矣。

耶穌曰：『天國之蘊奧、賜爾知之、不賜若輩；

且予固知因爾等之虔求、並賴耶穌基督之神助、一切境遇、無非玉我於成、俾獲靈救、

望兄弟為吾儕祈禱；

同時並請為我預備客舍、希望賴爾等之祈禱、吾終獲與爾等團聚耳。

因此間門戶洞開、頗有發展工作之餘地；第反對分子、亦不在少數耳。

奧乃西弗則屢次予我以寬慰、不以予之縲絏為恥、願主矜恤其闔家大小是祝。

尚懇兄弟因吾主耶穌基督且憑聖神之愛德、為我祈禱天主、使我得脫於猶太諸不信者之手、使我之貢獻得蒙耶路撒冷諸聖徒之悅納、使我得依天主之旨、以歡欣鼓舞之情緒、到達爾處、且得在爾處稍事休息、則幸甚矣。
