請代我問候在老底嘉的弟兄姊妹，也問候寧法姊妹和在她家裡聚會的人。你們當眾宣讀這封信後，也要交給老底嘉教會宣讀，你們也要宣讀老底嘉教會轉給你們的信。

我可以證明，他們是甘心樂意，盡其所能地捐助，甚至超過了自己的能力。

我可以證明，他們對上帝有熱心，但不是基於真知。

「你要寫信告訴老底嘉教會的天使，那位實實在在、誠信無偽的見證人，就是上帝所造萬物的元首說，『我知道你的行為，你不冷也不熱。我情願你或冷或熱，可是現在你卻像溫水一樣不冷不熱，我必將你從我口中吐出去！你說，我很富有，已經發了財，什麼都不缺。你卻不知道自己困苦、可憐、貧窮、瞎眼、赤身露體。我勸你向我買精煉的金子，使你真正富有。你也要向我買白袍穿在身上，好遮蓋你赤身露體的羞辱。你也要向我買眼藥抹眼睛，使你能看見。

「把你所看見的寫在書上，然後送給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉鐵非和老底嘉七間教會。」
