In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ,

When you received Christ, your circumcision was not done by human hands. Instead, your circumcision was done by Christ. He put away the person you used to be. At that time, sin’s power ruled over you.

In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

When you came to Christ, you were“ circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision— the cutting away of your sinful nature.

惟隱為猶太人者、誠猶太人、受於心之割、乃割也、在性靈不在儀文、其稱譽也、非由人、乃由上帝、

蓋我儕以上帝之神而崇拜、於基督耶穌而誇、不恃乎形軀、是乃受割者也、

乃知舊日之我、與之同釘、俾罪之體泯、不復為罪所役、

且屬基督耶穌者、已以形軀及其情慾、釘於十架矣、○

爾上帝耶和華必制爾情欲、爰及子孫、使一心一意愛爾上帝耶和華、致得生存、

爾於夙習之行、宜脫舊人、即以欺罔之慾、而自敗者、

蓋基督非人手造之聖所、似真聖所之形狀者、乃入於天、今於上帝前為我儕而顯焉、

是以在基督中者、乃為新造之人、舊事已逝、諸事更新矣、

故當祛除爾心之污、勿復強項、

我已與基督同釘十架、而我尚生、非我也、基督生於我中也、今我生於形軀者、乃因信上帝子而生、即愛我而為我捐己者也、

今則宜去一切忿怒、暴戾、狠毒、謗讟、穢言、彼此勿誑、以爾已脫舊人與其行、

基督至矣、為將來佳事之大祭司、由於愈大愈全之幕、非手所造、不屬斯世、

蓋我儕乃上帝之工、受造於基督耶穌中、致行善行、乃上帝所預定、使我儕行之者也、○故當記憶爾昔以形軀為異邦人、彼於形軀由人手所謂割者、謂爾為無割、當時爾與基督相隔、與以色列民相異、外乎應許諸約、無有所望、在世無上帝、今則於基督耶穌、爾素為遠者、以基督血得近、彼為我儕之和、毀其間之藩籬、使二者為一、且於其形軀廢厥仇讐、即誡命之律、載於條例者、致於彼中以二者造一新人而致和、又以十架誅厥仇讐、聯二者為一體、復和於上帝、遂來宣和平於爾遠者及近者、蓋我二者由彼以一神而謁父、

猶大人及耶路撒冷居民歟、宜對耶和華自潔、祛除爾心之污、免我因爾所行之惡、發怒如火炎炎、無能撲滅、

夫造宇宙及其中萬有之神、乃天地主、不居手造之殿、

我知在地之幕若壞、則有由於上帝之室、非手所造、悠久於天、

屆期、上帝遣其子、由女而生、在於律下、以贖律下之人、使我儕得為子之分、

八日既屆、為嬰行割、命名耶穌、即未妊時、天使所稱者、○

然至上者不居手造之室、如先知所云、

曰、我儕嘗聞其言云、此殿乃手所作、我將毀之、三日別建一殿、非手所作者、
