The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by himself, saith Jehovah, the God of hosts: I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces; therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.

The Sovereign Lord has sworn by himself— the Lord God Almighty declares:“ I abhor the pride of Jacob and detest his fortresses; I will deliver up the city and everything in it.”

The Lord and King has made a promise in his own name. He is the Lord God who rules over all. He announces,“ I hate the pride of Jacob’s people. I can’t stand their forts. I will hand the city of Samaria and everything in it over to their enemies.”

The Lord God has sworn by himself, declares the Lord, the God of hosts:“ I abhor the pride of Jacob and hate his strongholds, and I will deliver up the city and all that is in it.”

The Sovereign Lord has sworn by his own name, and this is what he, the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, says:“ I despise the arrogance of Israel, and I hate their fortresses. I will give this city and everything in it to their enemies.”

The Lord GOD has sworn by himself— this is the declaration of the LORD, the God of Armies: I loathe Jacob’s pride and hate his citadels, so I will hand over the city and everything in it.

The Lord God has sworn by Himself, the Lord God of armies has declared:“ I loathe the arrogance of Jacob, And detest his citadels; Therefore I will give up the city and all it contains.”

The Lord GOD has sworn by Himself, The Lord God of hosts says:“ I abhor the pride of Jacob, And hate his palaces; Therefore I will deliver up the city And all that is in it.”

The Lord God has sworn by Himself— this is the declaration of Yahweh, the God of Hosts: I loathe Jacob’s pride and hate his citadels, so I will hand over the city and everything in it.

The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.

The sovereign LORD confirms this oath by his very own life. The LORD, the God who commands armies, is speaking:“ I despise Jacob’s arrogance; I hate their fortresses. I will hand over to their enemies the city of Samaria and everything in it.”

“ The Lord Yahweh has sworn by himself,” says Yahweh, the God of Armies:“ I abhor the pride of Jacob, and detest his fortresses. Therefore I will deliver up the city with all that is in it.

Jehovah of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with the canker- worm; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.

Jehovah hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

He chooseth our inheritance for us, The glory of Jacob whom he loved.[ Selah

The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that they shall take you away with hooks, and your residue with fish- hooks.

But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith Jehovah, that this house shall become a desolation.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: An adversary there shall be, even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be plundered.

Therefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people, And he abhorred his inheritance.

If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.

And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your sun- images, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you.

For when God made promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he sware by himself,saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.For men swear by the greater: and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation.Wherein God, being minded to show more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;

and said, By myself have I sworn, saith Jehovah, because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son,

Therefore I will make Samaria as a heap of the field, and as places for planting vineyards; and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will uncover the foundations thereof.And all her graven images shall be beaten to pieces, and all her hires shall be burned with fire, and all her idols will I lay desolate; for of the hire of a harlot hath she gathered them, and unto the hire of a harlot shall they return.For this will I lament and wail; I will go stripped and naked; I will make a wailing like the jackals, and a lamentation like the ostriches.For her wounds are incurable; for it is come even unto Judah; it reacheth unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.

The Lord is become as an enemy, he hath swallowed up Israel; He hath swallowed up all her palaces, he hath destroyed his strongholds; And he hath multiplied in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

And Jehovah saw it, and abhorred them, Because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

When God heard this, he was wroth, And greatly abhorred Israel;

And I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.

And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
