I also withheld the rain from you while there were still three months until harvest. I sent rain on one city but no rain on another. One field received rain while a field with no rain withered.

“在收割的前三月，我使雨停止，不降在你们那里；我降雨在这城，不降雨在那城；这块地有雨，那块地无雨；无雨的就枯干了。

“ I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up.

“ I also held back rain from you. The time to harvest crops was still three months away. I sent rain on one town. But I held it back from another. One field had rain. But another had no rain and dried up.

“ I also withheld the rain from you when there were yet three months to the harvest; I would send rain on one city, and send no rain on another city; one field would have rain, and the field on which it did not rain would wither;

“ I kept the rain from falling when your crops needed it the most. I sent rain on one town but withheld it from another. Rain fell on one field, while another field withered away.

“ Furthermore, I withheld the rain from you While there were still three months until harvest. Then I would send rain on one city, But on another city I would not send rain; One part would be rained on, While the part not rained on would dry up.

“ I also withheld rain from you, When there were still three months to the harvest. I made it rain on one city, I withheld rain from another city. One part was rained upon, And where it did not rain the part withered.

And I also have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

This is why the showers haven’t come— why there has been no spring rain. You have the brazen look of a prostitute and refuse to be ashamed.

The only place it didn’t hail was in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.

I will make it a wasteland. It will not be pruned or weeded; thorns and briers will grow up. I will also give orders to the clouds that rain should not fall on it.

Elijah was a human being as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land.

One person could not see another, and for three days they did not move from where they were. Yet all the Israelites had light where they lived.

But the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that nothing of all that the Israelites own will die.”

The ground is cracked since no rain has fallen on the land. The farmers are ashamed; they cover their heads.

“ And if in spite of this you do not obey me but act with hostility toward me,I will act with furious hostility toward you; I will also discipline you seven times for your sins.

I will put a wool fleece here on the threshing floor. If dew is only on the fleece, and all the ground is dry, I will know that you will deliver Israel by me, as you said.”And that is what happened. When he got up early in the morning, he squeezed the fleece and wrung dew out of it, filling a bowl with water.Gideon then said to God,“ Don’t be angry with me; let me speak one more time. Please allow me to make one more test with the fleece. Let it remain dry, and the dew be all over the ground.”That night God did as Gideon requested: only the fleece was dry, and dew was all over the ground.

When the skies are shut and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you, and they pray toward this place and praise your name, and they turn from their sins because you are afflicting them,may you hear in heaven and forgive the sin of your servants and your people Israel, so that you may teach them to walk on the good way. May you send rain on your land that you gave your people for an inheritance.

So on your account, the skies have withheld the dew and the land its crops.I have summoned a drought on the fields and the hills, on the grain, new wine, fresh oil, and whatever the ground yields, on people and animals, and on all that your hands produce.”

Then the LORD’s anger will burn against you. He will shut the sky, and there will be no rain; the land will not yield its produce, and you will perish quickly from the good land the LORD is giving you.

“ If in spite of these things you do not accept my discipline, but act with hostility toward me,then I will act with hostility toward you; I also will strike you seven times for your sins.

Should any of the families of the earth not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Armies, rain will not fall on them.

The fields are destroyed; the land grieves; indeed, the grain is destroyed; the new wine is dried up; and the fresh oil fails.Be ashamed, you farmers, wail, you vinedressers, over the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field has perished.The grapevine is dried up, and the fig tree is withered; the pomegranate, the date palm, and the apple— all the trees of the orchard— have withered. Indeed, human joy has dried up.Dress in sackcloth and lament, you priests; wail, you ministers of the altar. Come and spend the night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God, because grain and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God.Announce a sacred fast; proclaim a solemn assembly! Gather the elders and all the residents of the land at the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.Woe because of that day! For the day of the LORD is near and will come as devastation from the Almighty.Hasn’t the food been cut off before our eyes, joy and gladness from the house of our God?The seeds lie shriveled in their casings. The storehouses are in ruin, and the granaries are broken down, because the grain has withered away.How the animals groan! The herds of cattle wander in confusion since they have no pasture. Even the flocks of sheep and goats suffer punishment.

If I shut the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the grasshopper to consume the land, or if I send pestilence on my people,and my people, who bear my name, humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

They have authority to close up the sky so that it does not rain during the days of their prophecy. They also have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every plague whenever they want.

Can any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Or can the skies alone give showers? Are you not the LORD our God? We therefore put our hope in you, for you have done all these things.

Children of Zion, rejoice and be glad in the LORD your God, because he gives you the autumn rain for your vindication. He sends showers for you, both autumn and spring rain as before.

The sky above you will be bronze, and the earth beneath you iron.The LORD will turn the rain of your land into falling dust; it will descend on you from the sky until you are destroyed.

They have not said to themselves,‘ Let’s fear the LORD our God, who gives the seasonal rains, both autumn and spring, who guarantees to us the fixed weeks of the harvest.’Your guilty acts have diverted these things from you. Your sins have withheld my bounty from you,

“ But if after these things you will not obey me, I will proceed to discipline you seven times for your sins.I will break down your strong pride. I will make your sky like iron and your land like bronze,and your strength will be used up for nothing. Your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.“ If you act with hostility toward me and are unwilling to obey me, I will multiply your plagues seven times for your sins.

“ Don’t you say,‘ There are still four more months, and then comes the harvest’? Listen to what I’m telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready for harvest.

But on that day I will give special treatment to the land of Goshen, where my people are living; no flies will be there. This way you will know that I, the LORD, am in the land.

For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you didn’t receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as if you hadn’t received it?
