他吃过东西之后，体力也恢复了。他和大马士革的门徒住了几天之后，

也没有上耶路撒冷去见那些比我先做使徒的人，而是立刻去了阿拉伯，然后回到大马士革。过了三年，我才到耶路撒冷去拜会彼得，和他一起住了十五天。我也见了主耶稣的弟弟雅各，此外没有见过其他使徒。

“后来，我回到耶路撒冷，在圣殿里祷告的时候，进入异象，看见主对我说，‘赶快离开耶路撒冷，因为这里的人不会接受你为我做的见证。’我说，‘主啊！他们都知道我从前搜遍各会堂，逮捕、毒打信你的人。当你的见证人司提凡为你流血殉道时，我自己也站在旁边赞同杀他的人，还替他们保管衣服。’

那时，许多人会放弃信仰，互相出卖，彼此憎恨。
