News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Then Peter said,“ Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.

Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them.The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.

Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

The seventy-two returned with joy and said,“ Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”

There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years.“ Aeneas,” Peter said to him,“ Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up.

Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them.Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man,“ Son, your sins are forgiven.”Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves,“ Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them,“ Why are you thinking these things?Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man,‘ Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say,‘ Get up, take your mat and walk’?But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man,“ I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”

The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.

God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
