他所喜悅的，就是耶和華的律法；耶和華的律法，他晝思夜想。他像一棵樹，栽種在溪水旁，他的果實按時結出，他的葉子也不凋零，凡他所做的都會興盛。

我以你的法度為繼業直到永遠，因為它們是我心裡的歡樂。

你們要聽從管教、要有智慧，不要忽視它。那聽從我、在我的門旁天天警醒、在我的門柱邊守候的人，是蒙福的！

這裡的人比帖撒羅尼迦的人開明。他們滿心樂意地接受這福音，天天查考經文，要看這些事是否如此。這樣，他們當中有許多人相信了，包括尊貴的希臘婦女，以及不少男人。

你們要讓基督的話語豐豐富富地住在你們裡面，要用一切的智慧彼此教導、勸誡，懷著感恩的心，以詩篇、聖詩、屬靈的詩歌來歌頌神。

猶大王烏西雅、約坦、亞哈斯、希西加年間，亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞所看到的異象，是關於猶大和耶路撒冷的：

你們查考經文，因你們以為從中可以得到永恆的生命。其實這經文就是為我做見證的。可是你們不肯到我這裡來得生命。

並且你從年幼就知道了聖經，這聖經能使你有智慧，藉著在基督耶穌裡的信仰，以至於救恩。聖經都是神所默示的，對於教導、責備、規正、在義中的訓練都是有益處的，要使屬神的人完備，為一切美善的工作，裝備齊全。

他們彼此不一致，開始散去，保羅就說了一句話：「聖靈藉著先知以賽亞對你們祖先所說的是對的。
