When they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and the witnesses laid aside their cloaks at the feet of a young man named Saul.

And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was being shed, I also was standing nearby and approving, and watching over the cloaks of those who were killing him.’

but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”

They followed his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them.

But when they heard this, they became infuriated and nearly decided to execute them.

For this reason also, the wisdom of God said,‘ I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill, and some they will persecute,so that the blood of all the prophets, shed since the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation,

and the rest seized his slaves and treated them abusively, and then killed them.

So then those who were scattered because of the persecution that occurred in connection with Stephen made their way to Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews alone.But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks as well, preaching the good news of the Lord Jesus.And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a large number who believed turned to the Lord.The news about them reached the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas off to Antioch.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego replied to the king,“ Nebuchadnezzar, we are not in need of an answer to give you concerning this matter.If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will rescue us from your hand, O king.But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods nor worship the golden statue that you have set up.”

Then Pharaoh said to him,“ Get away from me! Be careful, do not see my face again, for on the day you see my face, you shall die!”Moses said,“ You have spoken correctly; I shall never see your face again!”

Therefore, those who had been scattered went through places preaching the word.

So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, as it was being built up; and as it continued in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it kept increasing.

Remember the word that I said to you,‘ A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they followed My word, they will follow yours also.

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John,

They will ban you from the synagogue, yet an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering a service to God.

Then the king was very glad and gave orders for Daniel to be lifted up out of the den. So Daniel was lifted up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

“ You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people.

Now when Daniel learned that the document was signed, he entered his house( and in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and offering praise before his God, just as he had been doing previously.

Now from that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified,“ He told me all the things that I have done.”So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.Many more believed because of His word;and they were saying to the woman,“ It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One truly is the Savior of the world.”

Now there were prophets and teachers at Antioch, in the church that was there: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel,

“ Go, stand and speak to the people in the temple area the whole message of this Life.”

So I sent messengers to them, saying,“ I am doing a great work and am unable to come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?”

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he persevered, as though seeing Him who is unseen.

“ Therefore, behold, I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city,

They laid hands on the apostles and put them in a public prison.

This is the one who was in the assembly in the wilderness together with the angel who spoke to him at length on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living words to pass on to you.

It is enough for the disciple that he may become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they insult the members of his household!“ So do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.What I tell you in the darkness, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim on the housetops.And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Now when they heard this, they were infuriated, and they began gnashing their teeth at him.
