Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said,“ It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.

So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said,“ It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.

So the 12 apostles gathered all the believers together. They said,“ It wouldn’t be right for us to give up teaching God’s word. And we’d have to stop teaching to wait on tables.

And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said,“ It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables.

So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said,“ We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program.

The Twelve summoned the whole company of the disciples and said,“ It would not be right for us to give up preaching the word of God to wait on tables.

So the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said,“ It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables.

And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve tables.

Then the Twelve summoned the whole company of the disciples and said,“ It would not be right for us to give up preaching about God to handle financial matters.

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples[ unto them], and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

So the twelve called the whole group of the disciples together and said,“ It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to wait on tables.

The twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said,“ It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.

So Moses’ father-in-law said to him,“ The thing that you do is not good.Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself.Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God.And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do.Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you.If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace.”So Moses heeded the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said.And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people: rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.So they judged the people at all times; the hard cases they brought to Moses, but they judged every small case themselves.

“ And I spoke to you at that time, saying:‘ I alone am not able to bear you.The Lord your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude.May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!How can I alone bear your problems and your burdens and your complaints?Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.’And you answered me and said,‘ The thing which you have told us to do is good.’

No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

So Moses said to the Lord,“ Why have You afflicted Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me?Did I conceive all these people? Did I beget them, that You should say to me,‘ Carry them in your bosom, as a guardian carries a nursing child,’ to the land which You swore to their fathers?Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me, saying,‘ Give us meat, that we may eat.’

So I sent messengers to them, saying,“ I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?”

For it seems to me unreasonable to send a prisoner and not to specify the charges against him.”

What then? The assembly must certainly meet, for they will hear that you have come.

But Peter and John answered and said to them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.
