So the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said,“ It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables.

十二宗徒因召同人至、曰：『為几筵之事而曠傳道之職、非所宜也。

So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said,“ It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.

So the 12 apostles gathered all the believers together. They said,“ It wouldn’t be right for us to give up teaching God’s word. And we’d have to stop teaching to wait on tables.

And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said,“ It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables.

So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said,“ We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program.

The Twelve summoned the whole company of the disciples and said,“ It would not be right for us to give up preaching the word of God to wait on tables.

Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said,“ It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.

And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve tables.

Then the Twelve summoned the whole company of the disciples and said,“ It would not be right for us to give up preaching about God to handle financial matters.

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples[ unto them], and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

So the twelve called the whole group of the disciples together and said,“ It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to wait on tables.

The twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said,“ It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.

Moses’ father in law then said to him,“ The thing that you are doing is not good.You will surely wear out, both yourself and these people who are with you, because the task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.Now listen to me: I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You be the people’s representative before God, and you bring the disputes to God,then admonish them about the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way in which they are to walk and the work they are to do.Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.Let them judge the people at all times; and let it be that they will bring to you every major matter, but they will judge every minor matter themselves. So it will be easier for you, and they will carry the burden with you.If you do this thing and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all these people also will go to their places in peace.”So Moses listened to his father in law and did everything that he had said.Moses chose able men out of all Israel and made them heads over the people, leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.Then they judged the people at all times; they would bring the difficult matter to Moses, but they would judge every minor matter themselves.

“ And I spoke to you at that time, saying,‘ I am not able to endure you alone.The Lord your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are this day like the stars of heaven in number.May the Lord, the God of your fathers increase you a thousand times more than you are, and bless you, just as He has promised you!How can I alone endure the burden and weight of you and your strife?Obtain for yourselves men who are wise, discerning, and informed from your tribes, and I will appoint them as your heads.’And you answered me and said,‘ The thing which you have said to do is good.’

No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him.

So Moses said to the Lord,“ Why have You been so hard on Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have put the burden of all this people on me?Was it I who conceived all this people? Or did I give birth to them, that You should say to me,‘ Carry them in your arms, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which You swore to their fathers’?Where am I to get meat to give to all this people? For they weep before me, saying,‘ Give us meat so that we may eat!’

So I sent messengers to them, saying,“ I am doing a great work and am unable to come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?”

For it seems absurd to me in sending a prisoner, not to indicate the charges against him as well.”

So what is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come.

But Peter and John answered and said to them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, make your own judgment;
