田未鬻、非屬爾乎、既鬻、其金非爾作主乎、心生此念何為、爾非欺人、乃欺天主、

田未鬻、非爾之所有乎？鬻而得銀、又非爾之所屬乎？今爾心懷譎詐、是誠何為？爾非欺人、直欺天主耳！』

Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.”

Then Peter said to her,“ How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”

Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

They conceive trouble and bring forth futility; Their womb prepares deceit.”

So the Lord turned from the fierceness of His anger. Therefore the name of that place has been called the Valley of Achor to this day.

For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him,“ Where did you go, Gehazi?” And he said,“ Your servant did not go anywhere.”Then he said to him,“ Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants?Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever.” And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as snow.

No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.

Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure of gold and silver:

Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood.

Also Moses said,“ This shall be seen when the Lord gives you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to the full; for the Lord hears your complaints which you make against Him. And what are we? Your complaints are not against us but against the Lord.”

I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You.

the gold for things of gold and the silver for things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be done by the hands of craftsmen. Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the Lord?”

You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God.Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working?Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock?Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also?For it is written in the law of Moses,“ You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about?Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope.If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things?If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? Nevertheless we have not used this right, but endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ.Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar?Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.But I have used none of these things, nor have I written these things that it should be done so to me; for it would be better for me to die than that anyone should make my boasting void.For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.

But without your consent I wanted to do nothing, that your good deed might not be by compulsion, as it were, but voluntary.

But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse.
