但我查明他没有犯什么该死的罪，并且他自己上告于皇帝，所以我定意把他解去。

保罗刚要开口，迦流就对犹太人说：“你们这些犹太人！如果是为冤枉或奸恶的事，我理当耐性听你们。

我父啊，看看你外袍的衣襟在我手中。我割下你的衣襟，没有杀你；你由此可以知道我没有恶意叛逆你。你虽然猎取我的命，我却没有得罪你。愿耶和华在你我中间判断是非，在你身上为我伸冤，我却不亲手加害于你。

告他的人站着告他；所告的，并没有我所逆料的那等恶事。不过是有几样辩论，为他们自己敬鬼神的事，又为一个人名叫耶稣，是已经死了，保罗却说他是活着的。

耶和华我的神啊，我若行了这事，若有罪孽在我手里，我若以恶报那与我交好的人（连那无故与我为敌的，我也救了他），就任凭仇敌追赶我，直到追上，将我的性命踏在地下，使我的荣耀归于灰尘。细拉

后来有人把要害他的计谋告诉我，我就立时解他到你那里去，又吩咐告他的人在你面前告他。”

你自己究问他，就可以知道我们告他的一切事了。”
