The commander wanted to find out exactly why Paul was being accused by the Jews. So the next day he released him and ordered the chief priests and all the members of the Sanhedrin to assemble. Then he brought Paul and had him stand before them.

可是我告訴你們，凡是向弟兄發怒的，都要被判罪。誰若罵弟兄：‘你這蠢貨！（蠢貨：原文音譯是“拉加”，是亞蘭文侮辱別人的用語。）’，就要被公議會判罪；誰若罵：‘你這白痴！（白痴：原文是希臘文罵人的詞語，但是有少數學者認為這詞語是源於希伯來文，而把它音譯為“魔利”，意思是“叛徒”。）’，就罪該送入烈火的地獄。

你們要小心，因為有人要把你們送交公議會，並要在會堂裡鞭打你們；

使徒聽完了，就在黎明的時候，進到殿裡去教導。大祭司和他的同黨來到了，就召集了公議會和以色列人的眾長老，派人到監牢去帶使徒出來。

保羅說：“無論時間短也好，時間長也好，我向神所求的，不單是你，而且是今天所有的聽眾，都能像我一樣作基督徒，只是不要有這些鎖鍊。”

他們把他綁起來，押去交給總督彼拉多。

他來見我們，把保羅的腰帶拿過來，綁住自己的手腳，說：“聖靈說，猶太人在耶路撒冷要這樣捆綁這腰帶的主人，把他交在外族人的手裡。”

現在你們和公議會要通知千夫長，帶保羅到你們這裡來，裝作要詳細審查他。我們已經預備好了，不等他走近，就把他殺了。”

這是大祭司和全公議會都可以給我作證的。我也從他們那裡得到了寫給眾弟兄的信，就去大馬士革，要把那裡的人捆綁起來，帶到耶路撒冷接受懲罰。
