Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said,“ The Holy Spirit says,‘ In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’”

He came over to us. Then he took Paul’s belt and tied his own hands and feet with it. He said,“ The Holy Spirit says,‘ This is how the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will tie up the owner of this belt. They will hand him over to the Gentiles.’ ”

And coming to us, he took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said,“ Thus says the Holy Spirit,‘ This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”

He came over, took Paul’s belt, and bound his own feet and hands with it. Then he said,“ The Holy Spirit declares,‘ So shall the owner of this belt be bound by the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and turned over to the Gentiles.’”

The commander came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done. (niv)

This is what the Lord said to me:“ Go and buy a linen belt and put it around your waist, but do not let it touch water.”So I bought a belt, as the Lord directed, and put it around my waist.Then the word of the Lord came to me a second time:“ Take the belt you bought and are wearing around your waist, and go now to Perath and hide it there in a crevice in the rocks.”So I went and hid it at Perath, as the Lord told me.Many days later the Lord said to me,“ Go now to Perath and get the belt I told you to hide there.”So I went to Perath and dug up the belt and took it from the place where I had hidden it, but now it was ruined and completely useless.Then the word of the Lord came to me:“ This is what the Lord says:‘ In the same way I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.These wicked people, who refuse to listen to my words, who follow the stubbornness of their hearts and go after other gods to serve and worship them, will be like this belt— completely useless!For as a belt is bound around the waist, so I bound all the people of Israel and all the people of Judah to me,’ declares the Lord,‘ to be my people for my renown and praise and honor. But they have not listened.’ (niv)

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. (niv)

For this reason I have asked to see you and talk with you. It is because of the hope of Israel that I am bound with this chain.” (niv)

When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, but because Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews, he left Paul in prison. (niv)

Now Zedekiah son of Kenaanah had made iron horns and he declared,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ With these you will gore the Arameans until they are destroyed.’” (niv)

As they stretched him out to flog him, Paul said to the centurion standing there,“ Is it legal for you to flog a Roman citizen who hasn’t even been found guilty?” (niv)

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things. (niv)

About that time Jeroboam was going out of Jerusalem, and Ahijah the prophet of Shiloh met him on the way, wearing a new cloak. The two of them were alone out in the country,and Ahijah took hold of the new cloak he was wearing and tore it into twelve pieces.Then he said to Jeroboam,“ Take ten pieces for yourself, for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ See, I am going to tear the kingdom out of Solomon’s hand and give you ten tribes. “ We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to deathand will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!” (niv)

Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. (niv)

Paul replied,“ Short time or long— I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.” (niv)

They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement:“ The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your ancestors when he said through Isaiah the prophet: (niv)

Three days later he called together the local Jewish leaders. When they had assembled, Paul said to them:“ My brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or against the customs of our ancestors, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans. (niv)

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. (niv)

So, as the Holy Spirit says:“ Today, if you hear his voice, (niv)

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“ Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” (niv)

for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. (niv)

Elisha said,“ Get a bow and some arrows,” and he did so.“ Take the bow in your hands,” he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.“ Open the east window,” he said, and he opened it.“ Shoot!” Elisha said, and he shot.“ The Lord’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!” Elisha declared.“ You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek.”Then he said,“ Take the arrows,” and the king took them. Elisha told him,“ Strike the ground.” He struck it three times and stopped.The man of God was angry with him and said,“ You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.” (niv)

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— (niv)

You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. (niv)

I spoke to the prophets, gave them many visions and told parables through them.” (niv)

I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.” (niv)

Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed.So they bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate the governor. (niv)
