保羅進了會堂，放膽傳道，一連三個月講論並勸導人相信那些有關神國的事。

我在完全的謙卑中、淚水中、以及因猶太人的陰謀而帶來的許多試煉中服事主；

我們傳揚基督，用一切的智慧勸誡所有人，教導所有人，好讓我們使所有的人在基督裡成熟，能夠獻給神。

但是當人們睡覺的時候，他的仇敵來把稗子撒在麥子中間，然後離開了。

在一週的頭一天，門徒們聚集掰餅的時候，保羅向他們講論，因第二天就要離開，於是一直講到半夜。

至於你，要在一切事上謹慎，忍受苦難，做傳福音者的工作，完成你的服事。

我寫這些，不是要你們感到羞愧，而是把你們當做我親愛的兒女來勸誡。

弟兄們，我們勸你們：要勸誡懶散的人，安慰膽怯的人，扶助軟弱的人，對所有的人都要恆久忍耐。

約翰看見許多法利賽人和撒都該人也來要受他的洗禮，就對他們說：「你們這些毒蛇的子孫！誰指示你們逃避那將要來臨的震怒呢？

你們要時刻警醒、禱告，使你們能夠逃避這一切將要發生的事，好站立在人子面前。」

也沒有白吃過誰的飯。相反，我們辛苦勞碌、日夜做工，免得成為你們任何人的負擔。

過了好幾年，我回來了，帶著給我同胞的施捨，以及供物；

這就像一個人出外旅行，離開了家，把權柄交給了他的奴僕們，又把工作分給了每個人，他吩咐看門的人要警醒。所以你們要警醒，因為你們不知道這家的主人什麼時候回來，或傍晚，或半夜，或雞叫時，或凌晨；免得他忽然回來，看見你們在睡覺。我對你們說的，也對所有的人說：你們要警醒！」

「看哪，我要來臨，就像賊來臨那樣！那警醒並保持衣著在身，免得赤身行走被人看見他羞處的，這樣的人是蒙福的。」

保羅再上去，掰餅吃了，又交談了許久，直到天亮才出發。

弟兄們，你們記得我們的辛苦和勞碌：我們把神的福音傳給你們的時候，我們日夜做工，免得成為你們任何人的負擔。你們和神可以見證：我們對你們這些信的人是多麼聖潔、公義、無可指責的。
