我們先上船開往阿索，要在那裡接保羅；原來他這樣安排，是因為自己要走陸路。

過了好幾年，我回來了，帶著給我同胞的施捨，以及供物；

「看，現在我靈裡受到催逼，要去耶路撒冷。我不知道在那裡將會遇到什麼事，

他們到達以弗所城，保羅把他們兩個人留在那裡，自己就進了會堂向猶太人講論。

彼得敲了外面的門，一個叫羅妲的女僕前來應門。

向他們告別，說：「如果神願意，我會再回到你們這裡來。」就從以弗所起航了。

我們找到了一些門徒，就在那裡住了七天。他們藉著聖靈，一直告訴保羅不要上耶路撒冷去。

就是說，當我去西班牙的時候，我希望能順路看你們；先與你們相聚，使我稍得滿足；然後由你們在那裡送我上路。但如今，我要到耶路撒冷去服事聖徒，因為馬其頓省和亞該亞省的信徒，樂意與耶路撒冷聖徒中的窮人有一些分享。確實，他們是樂意的，不過這也是他們的責任，因為外邦人如果分享了猶太人屬靈的事，也就應該在物質的事上服事猶太人。所以，當我完成了這件事，向他們印證了這事的成果，我就要經過你們那裡，往西班牙去。
