他們就把他帶到亞略巴古，說：「你所講的這新學說，我們也可以知道嗎？

現在這時刻也是這樣，照着出於恩典的揀選，還有所留的餘數。既是靠恩典，就不憑行為，不然，恩典就不再是恩典了。

外邦人聽見這話很歡喜，讚美主的道，凡被指定得永生的人都信了。

保羅站在亞略巴古當中，說：「諸位雅典人！我看你們凡事很敬畏鬼神。

眾聖徒都問候你們，特別在凱撒家裏的人問候你們。

難道官長或法利賽人中有信他的嗎？但這些不明白律法的眾人是被詛咒的！」其中有尼哥德慕，就是從前去見過耶穌的，對他們說：「不先聽本人的口供，查明他所做的事，難道我們的律法還定他的罪嗎？」他們回答他說：「你也是出自加利利嗎？你去查考就知道，加利利是不出先知的。」

這些事以後，亞利馬太的約瑟來求彼拉多，要把耶穌的身體領去。他是耶穌的門徒，只因怕猶太人，就暗地裏作門徒。彼拉多准許了，他就把耶穌的身體領走。尼哥德慕也來了，就是先前夜裏去見耶穌的那位，他帶着約一百斤的沒藥和沉香。他們照猶太人喪葬的規矩，用細麻布加上香料，把耶穌的身體裹好了。在耶穌釘十字架的地方有一個園子，園子裏有一座新墓穴，是從來沒有葬過人的。因為那天是猶太人的預備日，而那墳墓又在附近，他們就把耶穌安放在那裏。

雨雪從天而降，並不返回，卻要滋潤土地，使地面發芽結實，使撒種的有種，使要吃的有糧。我口所出的話也必如此，絕不徒然返回，卻要成就我的旨意，達成我差它的目的。
