God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

明哉雅瑋。燭幽洞微。諳我起居。鑒我秘思。行藏出處。明察罔遺。心聲未發。主已先知。瞻之在前。忽焉在後。聖手所指。不離左右。主之全知。超絕萬有。不可思議。矧可詰究。神彌六合。靡所不包。聖顏普照。何所用逃。曰躍於天。主在雲表。曰潛於淵。主伏於沼。日出之鄉。遼海之濱。聖臂所及。猶若比鄰。莫謂暗窒。靈鑒無形。莫謂暮夜。神聽無聲。我之有生。亦云奇矣。
