便到各會堂去宣講：「耶穌是上帝的兒子。」

保羅照以往的習慣進入會堂，一連三個安息日引用聖經與當地人討論，解釋、證明基督必須受害，然後從死裡復活，又說：「我向你們宣講的這位耶穌就是基督。」不少人被說服，成為保羅和西拉的同道，其中有許多是敬畏上帝的希臘人和有地位的婦女。

耶穌又對他們說：「你們要到世界各地去，向全人類傳揚福音。

保羅站起來向大家揮手示意，說：「各位以色列同胞和各位敬畏上帝的外族朋友們，請聽我說。

耶穌看見這些人群，就上了山，剛坐下，門徒便走到祂跟前，祂就開口教導他們，說：

人若聽從我、天天在我門口仰望、時時在我門邊等候，就有福了。

保羅和巴拿巴一同進入以哥念的猶太會堂講道，許多猶太人和希臘人信了耶穌。但那些頑梗不信的猶太人卻慫恿外族人敵視信徒。二人在那裡逗留了好些日子，靠著主勇敢地傳道。主賜給他們行神蹟奇事的能力，為祂的恩典之道做見證。城裡的居民分成了兩派，有些附和猶太人，有些支持使徒。

耶和華啊，我怒你所怒，無法容忍。耶和華說：「你把我的怒氣發向街頭的孩童和聚集成群的青年。丈夫、妻子和老人都要一同被擄。

智慧在大街上高喊，在廣場上揚聲，在熱鬧的市集宣告，在城門口演說：「你們愚昧人喜愛愚昧，嘲諷者以嘲弄為樂，無知者厭惡知識，要到什麼時候呢？

因為那時的人都自私自利、貪愛錢財、狂妄自誇、驕傲自負、說毀謗話、違背父母、忘恩負義、心不聖潔、

有些虔誠人將司提凡埋葬了，為他大聲痛哭。

他和全家都是虔誠敬畏上帝的人，他慷慨賙濟窮人，常常禱告。

虛有敬虔的外表，卻無敬虔的實質。你要避開這樣的人。
