時、使徒長老與會眾、決意於其中選人、偕保羅巴拿巴往安提阿、即選稱巴撒巴之猶大、及西拉、乃兄弟中之尊者、以書託之、其書云、使徒長老兄弟、請安提阿、叙利亞、基利家、異邦之諸兄弟安、

蓋我於眾雖為自由、而自役於眾、致獲人愈多、於猶太人、我則如猶太人、以獲猶太人、於律下人、我雖非在律下、乃如律下人、以獲律下人、於律外人、我如律外人、以獲律外人、然我非在上帝律外、乃在基督律下也、於弱者則為弱者、以獲弱者、於眾則如眾、多方以救數人、我所為者、皆為福音而為、致我與人共與之、

上帝以基督恩召爾、我怪爾離之若此之速、而別從福音、此非福音也、乃擾爾者、欲紛更基督福音耳、或我儕或天使、宣福音於爾、異乎我所宣者、則宜見詛、我昔言之、今復言之、若人宣福音於爾、異乎爾所受者、則宜見詛、今我欲取信於人乎、抑欲取信於上帝乎、或求悅於人乎、若仍悅人、則非基督僕矣、○

故我雖於基督中以所宜者侃侃命爾、然以愛故寧求爾、如一老邁之保羅、今且為基督耶穌之囚、

遂經諸邑、以耶路撒冷、使徒長老所定之命、授門徒守之、

是以遣猶大、西拉、口述此事、

聖神命我同往、勿區別、此兄弟六人偕行、入其人之室、

爾若行是、上帝亦以命爾、則爾可久、民亦安歸其所、

我自謂不亞於至大使徒、

我儕同心決意選人、遣偕所愛之巴拿巴保羅就爾、

遂延之入、止宿焉、翌日起而偕往約帕、兄弟數人同行、

愛友乎、我方以我儕共得之拯救、殷勤書於爾、遂不得已以書勸爾、為道力爭、即授於諸聖一次而已者、
