那七日将完，从亚细亚来的犹太人看见保罗在殿里，就耸动了众人，下手拿他，

散会以后，犹太人和敬虔进犹太教的人多有跟从保罗、巴拿巴的。二人对他们讲道，劝他们务要恒久在神的恩中。

亚玛谢又对阿摩司说：“你这先见哪，要逃往犹大地去，在那里糊口，在那里说预言，

我亲爱的弟兄们，请听，神岂不是拣选了世上的贫穷人，叫他们在信上富足，并承受他所应许给那些爱他之人的国吗？你们反倒羞辱贫穷人。那富足人岂不是欺压你们、拉你们到公堂去吗？

他们又耸动了百姓、长老，并文士，就忽然来捉拿他，把他带到公会去，

那时，有虔诚的犹太人从天下各国来，住在耶路撒冷。

我可以证明，他们向神有热心，但不是按着真知识；

(从来没有像亚哈的，因他自卖，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，受了王后耶洗别的耸动；

你们因耶和华言语战兢的人当听他的话：你们的弟兄，就是恨恶你们、因我名赶出你们的，曾说：“愿耶和华得荣耀，使我们得见你们的喜乐”，但蒙羞的究竟是他们！

有人在这城里逼迫你们，就逃到那城里去。我实在告诉你们，以色列的城邑，你们还没有走遍，人子就到了。

保罗却说：“我们是罗马人，并没有定罪，他们就在众人面前打了我们，又把我们下在监里，现在要私下撵我们出去吗？这是不行的。叫他们自己来领我们出去吧！”差役把这话回禀官长。官长听见他们是罗马人，就害怕了，于是来劝他们，领他们出来，请他们离开那城。

弟兄们哪，可见你们蒙召的，按着肉体有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊贵的也不多。神却拣选了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又拣选了世上软弱的，叫那强壮的羞愧。神也拣选了世上卑贱的，被人厌恶的，以及那无有的，为要废掉那有的，使一切有血气的，在神面前一个也不能自夸。

众人就央求耶稣离开他们的境界。

这犹太人杀了主耶稣和先知，又把我们赶出去。他们不得神的喜悦，且与众人为敌，不许我们传道给外邦人使外邦人得救，常常充满自己的罪恶。神的忿怒临在他们身上已经到了极处。

从这日起，耶路撒冷的教会大遭逼迫，除了使徒以外，门徒都分散在犹太和撒玛利亚各处。
