所以，請你下令嚴密看守那墳墓，一直到第三天，免得他的門徒們來把他偷走，然後對民眾說他從死人中復活了，這樣，那最後的迷惑就要比先前的更厲害了。」彼拉多對他們說：「你們有一隊衛兵，盡你們所能，嚴密看守吧！」於是，他們帶著衛兵去，用印封上墓口的石頭，嚴密看守墳墓。

我確確實實地告訴你：你年輕的時候，自己束上腰帶，到你願意去的地方；但你年老的時候，要伸出雙手，別人要把你束上，帶你到不願意去的地方。」

「那時，他們將要出賣你們，使你們受患難，甚至殺害你們。為了我的名，你們將被萬民憎恨。

打了很多棍以後，把他們投進監獄，吩咐獄卒好好地看守。獄卒領了這樣的吩咐，就把他們投進了監獄裡的最裡層，把他們的兩腳銬在木枷上。

可是彼得對耶穌說：「主啊，我預備好要與你一起去監獄、一起去死！」

詔書藉著信使們的手傳送給王的各省：要各省在十二月（亞達月）十三日，一天之內，把所有的猶太人，無論老少、孩童或婦女，都除滅、擊殺、消滅，並且掠奪他們的財物。

不過他們說：「不可在節日期間，免得民中發生騷亂。」

下手捉拿使徒們，把他們關在公眾拘留所裡。

做成了你手和你計劃所預定要成就的一切事。

掃羅卻摧殘教會，闖進各家各戶，無論男女都拉去關進監獄。
