掌權者的怒氣若向你發作，不要離開你的本位，因為鎮定能平息大過。

或是一個王出去和別的王打仗，豈不先坐下來酌量，他能不能用一萬兵去抵抗那領二萬兵來攻打他的嗎？若是不能，他就趁敵人還遠的時候，派使者去談和平的條件。

她不知道是我給她五穀、新酒和新的油，又加添她的金銀；他們卻用來供奉巴力。因此，我要在收割的日子收回我的五穀，在當令的季節收回我的新酒，我要奪回她用以遮體的羊毛和麻。

主人就誇獎這不義的管家做事精明，因為今世之子應付自己的世代比光明之子更加精明。

我心中不存憤怒。惟願在戰爭中我有荊棘和蒺藜，我就起步攻擊他，把他一同焚燒；或者讓他緊靠我，以我為避難所，與我和好，與我和好。」

計謀憑籌算立定，打仗要憑智謀。
