After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross- examined the guards and ordered that they be executed. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

So Herod had them look everywhere for Peter. But they didn’t find him. Then Herod questioned the guards closely. He ordered that they be put to death. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

And after Herod searched for him and did not find him, he examined the sentries and ordered that they should be put to death. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there.

狱卒醒来，看见监狱的门都开了，以为囚犯们已经逃跑了，就拔出刀来要自杀。

希律抓了彼得，把他关进监狱，交给四班士兵看守，每班四个人，打算在逾越节以后把他提到民众面前审判。

于是祭司长们就商议，连拉撒路也要杀掉，因为有许多犹太人为了拉撒路的缘故，离开他们，信了耶稣。

后来，腓利出现在阿佐托。他走遍各个城镇传扬福音，直到他来到凯撒里亚。

那些博士离开以后，忽然主的一位天使在约瑟梦中显现，说：“起来，带着孩子和他的母亲逃往埃及，留在那里，直到我再指示你，因为希律要搜寻这孩子并杀害他。”

王所问的事，是件难事，除了不与属肉体的人住在一起的神明，没有谁能在王面前讲明它。”王因此发怒，极其震怒，下令消灭巴比伦的所有智慧人。法令发出，要杀掉智慧人；人就寻找但以理和他的同伴，要杀掉他们。

士兵们的计划是要把囚犯杀了，免得有人游泳逃脱。

恶人窥伺义人，寻机置他于死地；但耶和华必不将他离弃在恶人的手中；在审判的时候，也不定他有罪。

她们离去的时候，正好有一些卫兵进了城，把所发生的事都报告给祭司长们。祭司长们就与长老们一起聚集商议，给了士兵们许多银钱，说：“你们要说：‘他的门徒们夜里来，趁我们睡着的时候，把他偷走了。’如果这事被总督听见了，我们会说服他，保证你们无事。”士兵们收了银钱，就照所指示的去做。于是这说法就流传在犹太人当中，直到今天。

希律发现自己受了博士们的愚弄，就十分恼怒。于是，他按照从博士们那里所询问到的时间，派人把伯利恒城里和周围各个地区内两岁以下的男孩，全都杀了。

第二天我们离开那里，来到凯撒里亚，进了传福音者腓利的家，住在他那里，他是那七位执事中的一位。

过了几天，阿格里帕王和百妮基到达凯撒里亚，问候菲斯特斯。

大卫住在旷野的各个要塞里，或住在西弗旷野的山地。扫罗天天寻索大卫，神却不把大卫交在他手中。

希律要把彼得提出来审判的前一夜，彼得被两条铁链捆锁，睡在两个士兵中间，又有一些卫兵在监狱门前看守着。
