And when Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

彼得悟曰、我今誠知天主果遣其使者、拯我出希律手、不使猶太民遂其所望、

伯鐸祿憬悟曰：『予今乃真知主遣天神援予於希祿之手、而脫我於猶太人之所冀也。』

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

Then Peter realized what had happened. He said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent his angel. He set me free from Herod’s power. He saved me from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

Peter finally came to his senses.“ It’s really true!” he said.“ The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a truth, that the Lord hath sent forth his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and[ from] all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”

When Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

“ But when he came to himself, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.”

Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying,“ Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy,

then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor, To save him from those who condemn him.

“ Look!” he answered,“ I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying,“ Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.

The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Then David spoke to the Lord the words of this song, on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.

You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

And the Lord said to Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh, saying,‘ shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’

Then He said to Abram:“ Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.

The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said,

He shall deliver you in six troubles, Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”

And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy.They came to the chief priests and elders, and said,“ We have bound ourselves under a great oath that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul.Now you, therefore, together with the council, suggest to the commander that he be brought down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to make further inquiries concerning him; but we are ready to kill him before he comes near.”So when Paul’s sister’s son heard of their ambush, he went and entered the barracks and told Paul.Then Paul called one of the centurions to him and said,“ Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.”So he took him and brought him to the commander and said,“ Paul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to say to you.”Then the commander took him by the hand, went aside, and asked privately,“ What is it that you have to tell me?”And he said,“ The Jews have agreed to ask that you bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire more fully about him.But do not yield to them, for more than forty of them lie in wait for him, men who have bound themselves by an oath that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him; and now they are ready, waiting for the promise from you.”So the commander let the young man depart, and commanded him,“ Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.”And he called for two centurions, saying,“ Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at the third hour of the night;and provide mounts to set Paul on, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.”He wrote a letter in the following manner:Claudius Lysias, to the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.This man was seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them. Coming with the troops I rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.And when I wanted to know the reason they accused him, I brought him before their council.I found out that he was accused concerning questions of their law, but had nothing charged against him deserving of death or chains.And when it was told me that the Jews lay in wait for the man, I sent him immediately to you, and also commanded his accusers to state before you the charges against him. Farewell.

If the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who is there that has not been satisfied with his meat?’

Then Abimelech called Isaac and said,“ Quite obviously she is your wife; so how could you say,‘ she is my sister’?” Isaac said to him,“ Because I said,‘ Lest I die on account of her.’”

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

But after two years Porcius Festus succeeded Felix; and Felix, wanting to do the Jews a favor, left Paul bound.

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead,who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,

asking a favor against him, that he would summon him to Jerusalem— while they lay in ambush along the road to kill him.But Festus answered that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself was going there shortly.“ Therefore,” he said,“ let those who have authority among you go down with me and accuse this man, to see if there is any fault in him.”

But Festus, wanting to do the Jews a favor, answered Paul and said,“ Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and there be judged before me concerning these things?”
