不再是奴僕，乃是高過奴僕，是親愛的兄弟。在我實在是如此，何況在你呢！這也不拘是按肉體說，是按主說。

又有兵丁問他說：「我們當做甚麼呢？」約翰說：「不要以強暴待人，也不要訛詐人，自己有錢糧就當知足。」

倘若你怕下去，就帶你的僕人普拉下到那營裏去。

僕人有信道的主人，不可因為與他是弟兄就輕看他，更要加意服事他，因為得服事之益處的，是信道蒙愛的。你要以此教訓人，勸勉人。

在凱撒利亞有一個人，名叫哥尼流，是「意大利營」的百夫長。他是個虔誠人，他和全家都敬畏神，多多賙濟百姓，常常禱告神。

亞伯拉罕的僕人聽見他們這話，就向耶和華俯伏在地。

因為我在人的權下，也有兵在我以下；對這個說『去！』他就去；對那個說『來！』他就來；對我的僕人說『你做這事！』他就去做。」耶穌聽見就希奇，對跟從的人說：「我實在告訴你們，這麼大的信心，就是在以色列中，我也沒有遇見過。

亞伯拉罕年紀老邁，向來在一切事上耶和華都賜福給他。亞伯拉罕對管理他全業最老的僕人說：「請你把手放在我大腿底下。我要叫你指着耶和華－天地的主起誓，不要為我兒子娶這迦南地中的女子為妻。你要往我本地本族去，為我的兒子以撒娶一個妻子。」僕人對他說：「倘若女子不肯跟我到這地方來，我必須將你的兒子帶回你原出之地嗎？」亞伯拉罕對他說：「你要謹慎，不要帶我的兒子回那裏去。耶和華－天上的主曾帶領我離開父家和本族的地，對我說話，向我起誓說：『我要將這地賜給你的後裔。』他必差遣使者在你面前，你就可以從那裏為我兒子娶一個妻子。倘若女子不肯跟你來，我使你起的誓就與你無干了，只是不可帶我的兒子回那裏去。」僕人就把手放在他主人亞伯拉罕的大腿底下，為這事向他起誓。那僕人從他主人的駱駝裏取了十匹駱駝，並帶些他主人各樣的財物，起身往美索不達米亞去，到了拿鶴的城。

約拿單對拿兵器的少年人說：「我們不如過到未受割禮人的防營那裏去，或者耶和華為我們施展能力；因為耶和華使人得勝，不在乎人多人少。」拿兵器的對他說：「隨你的心意行吧。你可以上去，我必跟隨你，與你同心。」
