For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

He said to them,“ Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.”He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.

While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

He marveled because of their unbelief. He went around the villages teaching.

Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples, and a great multitude followed him from Galilee, from Judea,from Jerusalem, from Idumaea, beyond the Jordan, and those from around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him.He spoke to his disciples that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn’t press on him.For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him, and cried,“ You are the Son of God!”

Jesus went out from there, and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying,“ Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying,“ Send her away; for she cries after us.”But he answered,“ I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”But she came and worshiped him, saying,“ Lord, help me.”But he answered,“ It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”But she said,“ Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”Then Jesus answered her,“ Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.Jesus departed from there, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there.Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them,so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, the injured healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing— and they glorified the God of Israel.

“ Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”

At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.Those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. The people came to see what it was that had happened.They came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.

Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her,“ Don’t cry.”He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said,“ Young man, I tell you, arise!”He who was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying,“ A great prophet has arisen among us!” and,“ God has visited his people!”This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea, and in all the surrounding region.

For the Son of Man didn’t come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” They went to another village.
