So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.”

這裡的人，比帖撒羅尼迦人開明，熱切接受主的道，天天考查聖經，要知道所聽的是否與聖經相符。結果他們中間有很多人信了，也有高貴的希臘婦女，男的也不少。

我親愛的弟兄們，你們要知道，人人都應該快快地聽，慢慢地說，慢一點動怒；

雖然我的身體對你們是個試煉，你們卻沒有輕看，也沒有厭棄，反而接納我，好像神的天使，也好像基督耶穌。

聰明人的心獲得知識；智慧人的耳朵尋求知識。

所以你們應當擺脫一切污穢和所有的邪惡，以溫柔的心領受神栽種的道；這道能救你們的靈魂。

所以，凡謙卑像這小孩子的，他在天國裡是最大的。

使智慧人聽了，可以增長學問，使聰明人聽了，可以獲得智謀；

所以你們應當知道，神這救恩，已經傳給外族人，他們也必聽從。”（有些抄本在此有第29節：“他說了這話，猶太人中間大起爭論，就走了。”）

誰也不要自欺。如果你們當中有人以為自己在這世代裡是有智慧的，他就應該變為愚笨，好讓他有智慧。

神的能力也幫助猶大人，使他們一心遵行王和眾領袖奉耶和華的命令發出的吩咐。

所以要除去一切惡毒、一切詭詐、虛偽、嫉妒和一切毀謗的話，像初生嬰孩愛慕那純淨的靈奶，好叫你們靠它長大，進入救恩；

我實在告訴你們，凡是不像小孩子一樣接受神的國的，絕對不能進去。”

智慧人的責備在聽從的人耳中，好像金耳環和精金的飾物。

現在這大火快要吞滅我們了，我們為甚麼要冒死呢？如果我們再聽見耶和華我們神的聲音，我們就必死亡。因為有血肉生命的人，有誰像我們一樣，聽見永活的神從火中說話的聲音，還能活著呢？現在求你走前去，聽聽耶和華我們的神要說的一切話；然後你要把耶和華我們的神對你所說的一切話，都告訴我們；我們就必聽從，也必遵行。’“你們對我說話的時候，耶和華聽見了你們說話的聲音；耶和華就對我說：‘這人民對你所說的話，我都聽見了；他們所說的都很好。但願他們常常存著這樣的心，敬畏我，遵守我的一切誡命，使他們和他們的子孫永享福樂。

教導智慧人，他就越有智慧；指教義人，他就增加學問。敬畏耶和華是智慧的開端，認識至聖者就是聰明。

我們也為這緣故不住感謝神，因為你們接受了我們所傳的神的道，不認為這是人的道，而認為這確實是神的道。這道也運行在你們信的人裡面。

然而許多在前的將要在後，在後的將要在前。”
