这里的人，比帖撒罗尼迦人开明，热切接受主的道，天天考查圣经，要知道所听的是否与圣经相符。结果他们中间有很多人信了，也有高贵的希腊妇女，男的也不少。

我亲爱的弟兄们，你们要知道，人人都应该快快地听，慢慢地说，慢一点动怒；

虽然我的身体对你们是个试炼，你们却没有轻看，也没有厌弃，反而接纳我，好像神的天使，也好像基督耶稣。

聪明人的心获得知识；智慧人的耳朵寻求知识。

所以你们应当摆脱一切污秽和所有的邪恶，以温柔的心领受神栽种的道；这道能救你们的灵魂。

所以，凡谦卑像这小孩子的，他在天国里是最大的。

使智慧人听了，可以增长学问，使聪明人听了，可以获得智谋；

所以你们应当知道，神这救恩，已经传给外族人，他们也必听从。”（有些抄本在此有第29节：“他说了这话，犹太人中间大起争论，就走了。”）

谁也不要自欺。如果你们当中有人以为自己在这世代里是有智慧的，他就应该变为愚笨，好让他有智慧。

神的能力也帮助犹大人，使他们一心遵行王和众领袖奉耶和华的命令发出的吩咐。

所以要除去一切恶毒、一切诡诈、虚伪、嫉妒和一切毁谤的话，像初生婴孩爱慕那纯净的灵奶，好叫你们靠它长大，进入救恩；

我实在告诉你们，凡是不像小孩子一样接受神的国的，绝对不能进去。”

智慧人的责备在听从的人耳中，好像金耳环和精金的饰物。

现在这大火快要吞灭我们了，我们为什么要冒死呢？如果我们再听见耶和华我们神的声音，我们就必死亡。因为有血肉生命的人，有谁像我们一样，听见永活的神从火中说话的声音，还能活着呢？现在求你走前去，听听耶和华我们的神要说的一切话；然后你要把耶和华我们的神对你所说的一切话，都告诉我们；我们就必听从，也必遵行。’“你们对我说话的时候，耶和华听见了你们说话的声音；耶和华就对我说：‘这人民对你所说的话，我都听见了；他们所说的都很好。但愿他们常常存着这样的心，敬畏我，遵守我的一切诫命，使他们和他们的子孙永享福乐。

教导智慧人，他就越有智慧；指教义人，他就增加学问。敬畏耶和华是智慧的开端，认识至圣者就是聪明。

我们也为这缘故不住感谢神，因为你们接受了我们所传的神的道，不认为这是人的道，而认为这确实是神的道。这道也运行在你们信的人里面。

然而许多在前的将要在后，在后的将要在前。”
